Chapter 5

- Adam POV

The celebration went well.
I was distracted by what I've found out today. My mate is with the elder - the former betas residence.
Everyone enjoys the night and soon it ended.

They pack their stuff , clean the area and went back to their cabins to rest.

Me?

I told mom and dad to sleep. And went back to where my mate is. I stayed under the tree house

Sun is up and I haven't sleepin' yet .
Am I insane if I say this is because I waited for them to wake up.

I knocked twice at their front door.

"Wait!" I heard the elder said.

The door flung opened and I saw the shock on Elizabeth's face - our former female beta. I don't know why maybe I look like a shit right now. Knowing I don't have a sleep.

"Oh! " she said in surprise

"Good morning! Alpha!" She greeted me

I didn't respond. She looked at me warily.

"What is the reason of your visit?" She asked

"Can I come in first" I greeted my teeth trying to calm myself again.

"Good morning Alpha Adam" the beta greeted with enthusiast - it's William

"Take a seat" they offered

"How can we help you then?" They asked in unison

I looked at them. Trying to contain myself.

"Did your father sent you here?" William asked again

"No" my short reply

"Then why you are here?"

"I'm here for my mate!" I can no longer hide my anger. They were taken a back and shock flashes on their faces.

"You hide her from me!" I shout at them

"Ahm-- we, "

"No! Give her to me" I cut them off

"No!" They yelled

"What?"

"Ahh- we said no. You don't know"

"And why not?" I need my mate for god sake.
I've been looking for her for god knows ages long

Elizabeth raised her hand to silence me.

"We don't know. She doesn't know"

I'm confused.

"Listen to us first. She doesn't know she is part of this pack. Our daughter was killed by the rogues, and we are still finding who killed her. Our grand daughter doesn't know everything. We give her false details of her mom death, she thought it was due to the car accident. Don't blame why we haven't told her. She's been through a lot now. George left them as soon as he find out what Helen is , he run away from them. She is broken right now. We are just giving her time until we have the courage to tell her the truth about her." Elizabeth explain

I don't know but I feel sorry about her. She doesn't deserve life like that.
"I'm sorry"

"That's fine. Don't think we hide her from you. Besides, we don't even know you are her mate" William admit

I nodded.

"However, we want to ask you a favor"

"What is it?"

"Stay away from her, til- "

I cut her off. And went up straight to the stairs where the strong smell from leaving the old people shock with my action.
