"Hello?" Her voice quivers with a slight sense of elderly handicap. Creaking with the bed, her slow shuffles remind me at the task at hand: pretend to be fast asleep.
Swiftly I begin to throw off my backpack at the end of the comforter, toeing my socks off. Nearing my room, I slide off my pants with a held in breathe, praying to the sky she is exhausted by now. Footsteps only outside my door, I quickly and quietly cover myself up to my torso with blanket. Nudging my hand under the pillow, I try to look peaceful and not at all stressed about relationships and health. Ever so lightly my door opens without noise, the light weight of feet rocking slightly from fatigue creaking under her. I can tell she is confused by my presence and most likely thinking she's hallucinating. After all, who has had their child leave then suddenly return the next night? Not most kidnappers are that lenient.

Listening for the quiet click of the door, I smile when greeted with a closed dark room. Her slow shuffles rock through my brain with pleasure. There were no slip ups, and I could still see the honey doe eyed boy tomorrow. Pausing, I remove my arm from under the pillow, grabbing my phone from inside my bedsheets. Flashing the phone on, I wince at the overly saturated light filling the room. Turning the brightness to a minimum, I check the clock reading 1:45 PM, smiling.

Well, I suppose I'll see him today.
