Feeling my mind wandering off staring at the TV, I reach for the remote to shut it off. Glancing at the clock, heavy footsteps approach my door, unrecognizable ones at that. Placing my arms under the blanket in discomfort, I turn my body towards the door, expecting company.

Slowly turning open the door stood a nurse in scrubs, an awkward smile trying to greet me, failing. Fed up with the woman's nonsense, I speak up quickly to put a word in,
"No I am not needing to have to use the restroom nor am I hungry. Steph my nurse brought me some food." Even from my own standpoint, I notice the monotone behavior showing my annoyance. Confused clearly by my remark, she only smiles wider, eyes pleading to leave this situation. I soon notice a shadow perched behind her move more into the dark upon my gaze, frame just barely reaching over the woman's shoulder.

"Who's..." My eyebrows scrunch in confusion, stomach churning. Maybe I should take up the offer of the bathroom break.

"You have a visitor, Tyler!" She parades, clapping her large hands. Pushing aside her long blonde locks, I notice an edge in her peppy tone.
"Your first ever visitor, isn't that rocking?" Bluntly staring at her, I can't decide whether I should pity or start a hate page about her. Nodding and still awkward, she motions to me and the dark stranger with warm  familiarity.

'Don't leave me here with this stranger! They could want to kill me- and only I want to accomplish that.'

Rubbing an arm in the shadows, the man's face comes into view, shocking and both exciting me at the same time.

Mouth dropped to the floor, I force myself to not cry. In the doorframe, aakwardly perched in front of me, stands Father.

"I thought you were on a work call out of state-" raising a hand to stop me, he walks up to my bed, eyes watering.

"Son..it's nice to meet up again." Leaning I'm for a hug, I stop him immediately. With disbelief, I stare at him, expecting to see remorse, otherwise a small showing of guilt for leaving me alone at home for 3 weeks straight.

"No. No, you do not get to come here and just show up! Expecting to be the good guy when I saw what you allowed on the news!" At a loss of words once again, I watch him try to come up with some excuse as to why he let complete strangers tape me asleep. Angrily, I point to the screen, making him turn his head just long enough for me to throw my bedsheets aside. "Unbelievable. I'm out of here, and you can pay for the bill."
Shaking his head, he tries to place a hand on my shoulder, unsuccessful with my brush of the shoulder tactic.

Ripping off my gown right in front of the poor young nurse and demon of a father, I angrily pull on my tights and alien shirt, starting for my vans when I hear his echoing footsteps start for the door.

"Uh, um..." the unsuspecting nurse starts, clearing her throat. "Your visitor left...I will leave you to your shoes." I finish tying my right shoe, starting for the left when I notice her close the door.

Relaxing, I cover my face with my palms, tears pulling at my face. I push them down, lacing up the left shoe with a huff and a yawn.

"What time's it?" I yawn out, checking my watch. Remembering the inaccuracy, I rummage through my bedsheets and pull out my phone, turning the screen on, reading 12:43 pm. Shoving the phone in my waist band, I check for any missing items and head out, waking with pace through the white tile halls of the sick and dying.

Pushing open the emergency door exit, I smile noticing that at least somebody remembered to bring my transportation to the hospital. I walk over to the bike rack, running a frail hand over the body of the bike, smiling softly. Hoping on, I start for the park nearest to home, fatigue already biting down on my brain.

"Wait! Did you sign out, Mr. Joseph?" The unnamed female nurse rushes out, running towards me with a sign out sheet. Rolling my eyes at the lady, I scoot up to meet her halfway, reaching out to sign the papers. After signing, she seems content with yet again another awkward smile, running off strangely to the hospital in a rush.

'Jeeeze lady it's not even rush hour yet. That's around 9pm where the drunken fall into pools and tables...'Riding off to the park, I sing out a positive melody, Kanye there to soothe my nerves of all this cacophony noise.
