Chapter 3

ELEANOR'S POV

You just approached the farm and everyone turned and looked at you both. Lori quickly ran to you and Carl and hugged you both tightly. You didn't hug back, you just stood there. "Where were you guys?!" Lori asked, breaking the hug.

"We were searching a house then it snowed and walkers were everywhere," Carl replied.

"Where'd you get all that?" Rick questioned, pointing to the bags filled with food, water, and ammo.

"We went through most of the houses in the neighborhood and found all this." Carl answered.

"You ok, Eleanor?" Lori said, moving over to stand in front of me. I just handed her the bags and then walked towards the back of the house. When I got there I approached the tree I always sit in to think. I climbed the tree and enjoyed the silence.

CARL'S POV

Eleanor just walked off. I would be mad if I were in her place too. My mom gave me a confused look. "What happened?" Andrea asked.

"I uh, she um, her sister," thats all I needed to say for them to know that her sister was gone. What they didn't know was that it was all my fault.

"I'll go talk to her." Beth stated while walking away. I just nodded in reply.

ELEANOR'S POV

Somehow Beth managed to get me out of this tree and rejoin the group. When we joined the group all eyes were on me. Carl must have said something. I looked over to him to see him also looking at me with sad eyes. I quickly looked away then started to walk toward the house to go inside before I was turned around with a hand on my shoulder. "You should eat something." I looked up to see Rick trying to hand me some food. Rick was like a father to me and I was like a daughter to him. I didn't know where my father was or if he was alive or not. The same thing goes for the rest of my family, besides my sister. I shrugged his hand off my shoulder and continued walking to the house only to be stopped by Glenn. I wouldn't be this upset if she had a chance and wasn't basically killed by my friend. I think the group knows that something else happenend because I wasn't one to get this upset.

"You should at least come sit with us. Could you do that?" Glenn asked while looking down at me. I walked past him and sat on a log by the group. No one was sitting on that log and it was farthes away, thts why I chose it.

"What'd you guys do while you were out?" Daryl asked mostly towards Carl thinking that I wouldn't say anything.

"I watched my sister basically get killed by my so called friend." I said looking right at Carl. All eyes were looking at him and me. I stood up quickly and ran straight to my tent to be quickly joined by Lori.

"What happened? If you don't mind me asking." She asked.

"They came in through the back door and w-we were all run-unning and me and C-Carl made it out the door in the front of the h-house and he shut the door on h-her." By the end of my sentence I was in tear. Lori rubbed my back trying to calm me down then asked the next question.

"Why would he do that?"

"H-he said that if he didn't that all t-three of us would be dead." Lori just pulled me into a hugged and I hugged back.

CARL'S POV

Eleanor stood up and went to her tent and was quickly followed by my mom. "What did you do?!" My dad sounded very angry with me.

"I did it to protect her." I replied

"How did that work exactly?"

"The came through the back door and we all ran towards the front and the walkers were too vlose to her sister so I had to shut the door or all three of us would be gone." It sounds like a lame excuse but if you were there and this was all happening right infront of you, I'm sure many people would have done that. My dad didn't say anything and my mom was just coming out of the tent. Eleanor just came out of her tent. Everyone was quiet after that until we spotted tons of walkers making their way toward the farm.
