Chapter 1

I was sitting in my room listening to the same list of music I have on repeat with my headphones on so I could try and get away from the normal world, I then closed my eyes to concentrate on the lyrics that that burned into my soul when the smell of smoke invaded my nostrils, i opened my eyes and saw smoke everywhere so I took my headphones off and I heard a screams coming from downstairs my mums pleas for help where all I could hear .I was scared because i didn't know what was happening or if I was ever going to be able to get out of the house, my mums voice knocked me out of my thoughts.

"Alex can you hear me"

"Yeah mum i cant get out, the door is on fire"

"Stay calm sweetie and call the fire brigade"

I picked my phone and dialed 999 and they gave me instructions to wet clothes and put them on the door to keep the smoke out and wait until they came.

"Help, help someone help!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as smoke surrounded me.

My mum and dad were screaming my name but i couldn't get out, I tried so hazard to find a way out bit it was no use.

I couldn't hear my mum and dad calling me anymore so I assumed they got out. the door was on fire and the smoke was unbearable the last thing heard before I blacked out was the sound of sirens nearing.

I awoke feeling damp and cold, as I looked around I saw that I was outside in a puddle.

"dad, dad where are you?, mum please tell me you are alright?, answer me please"

As tears scattered down my face my lips began to tremble, as I tired to stand my legs began to quiver as I fell forcefully to the ground.

I dried up my tears because I didn't want people to think I was a soft.

I looked towards my house that was still on fire and I saw two firemen running out with my parents just before the house blew up, all mine and my parents things were disintegrated.

They put my parents burnt still bodies to the ground a mere 2 feet away.

"I'm sorry kid"

I ignored the firemen and laid on the floor next to them crying hoping I would be with them soon as I blacked out for the second time that terrible day.
