Gone

Chapter 4

A whole pizza later and a lot of family guy episodes we were ready to pass out. 

¨So uhmm Alex can i ask you something?¨ i asked curious 

¨W-Well sure..¨ she said a little nervous 

¨Why did you leave your family?¨ i asked and she stopped, and by stopped i mean she was wide eyed and she even stopped breathing. 

¨A-Alex¨ i stuttered nervous. She teared up and broke down. I scooted closer to her and pulled her on my lap. She wrapped her arms around my neck crying and i rubbed her back. 

¨h-hey its ok¨ i said soothingly. She stopped crying but didnt move. 

¨When i was 14 years old i was outside with my 5 year old brother. I-I turned around to grab our ball a-and he had ran into the street. I went to go after h-him but then it was to late. a-a drunk driver came b-by and hit him¨ she said and now she was sobbing terribly. ¨I freaked out and m-my mom came out and seen a-and we called 911. W-We lost him¨ she said crying worse. I rubbed her back. ¨After everything i was depressed and stopped eating. I cut, burned and got high all the time. I became a slut and people used me. My parents blamed me for h-his death and they have yelled at me about it ever since and now my moms an alcoholic  and my dad became a druggy. I..I had to get out¨ she said calming down a bit. 

I grabbed her face so her cheeks were resting in my palms and we were at eye level. 

¨Listen Alex, It was not your fault ever. I'm so sorry you had to go through that¨ i said sternly but still in a caring mood. 

¨B-But it was¨ she said tearing up again. 

¨No no it wasnt¨ i said shaking my head. I let her cheeks go and wrapped my arms around her tight. We were silent for quite some while, then i realized, she was asleep. 

I stood up quietly as i held on to her tight. Carrying her up the stairs, i opened a door to a bedroom. It was a really nice room so i decided it was Alex's. 

She walked over to the nice bed and pulled down the blanket. She laid her down and covered her up. Unsure on what to do Embry just laid down beside her and snuggled up. Soon enough, she passed out.
