Ok! :) Challenge #3! DUN DUN DUH
"Hi."
I looked up from my books to see Miley Kenalls, the cute new girl at school looking over me. I opened my mouth to greet her, but then it hit me. I couldn't say anything. Never could, never will. I'm mute.
"Hello? I'm new here, and I was wondering if you could show me the way to the Library." I grabbed my books, and gave her a slight nod, motion my hand for her to follow.
She smiled, and followed me as I wanted her to. "Beautiful school, isn't it?"
I looked up, and nodded and tried to agree with her.
"Why aren't you talking?" She finally asked, as we reached our destination down the hall. I stopped where I stood, and layed my hand out flat. I used my other hand as a pin, moving all down my palm.
She stared at me for awhile, but then just as she was going to give me a piece of paper to tell her, a bunch of kids came around the corner. "Don't bother with him, he's mute!" They laughed at me, making Miley's mouth form one big "O".
"Is it true? What they said? Are you really mute?" She asked me, brushing her hair out of her face. She waited for my response, as I slowly nodded my head. I turned around to walk away because after they knew that, everyone would turn on me. I was always the freak.
"Wait- Don't worry. I also have a secret, too." She said, running to me, then, in a hushed whisper, she said. "Come with me."
