Chapter Thirteen - Nightmares

(Y/N)

You were standing in a familiar hallway with enormous golden pillars. Light leaked through the thin glass windows as it illuminated the yellow-stoned path. Beside you was a locked box and a shimmering yellow star. A heart shaped locket was worn around your neck as you reached out for the star. Words in a black box began to flash before your eyes.

Chara LV 19 - Judgement Hall

Save Continue

"Chara?" you question in confusion. Last time this box appeared, it had always said your name instead. Shrugging it off, you reach out to press the save button. More words appeared in your eyes as you blinked, the words vanished from your sight.

You walked up to the box and unlocked it. Lifting the lid, you saw some items. You tried to carry them, but your inventory was full. A sigh escaping from your mouth, you cleared out most of your inventory to store all of the items. Eventually, you revealed a gleaming knife laying there, on top of a pile of... Dust.

You hesitated as the knife laid there, wanting to be taken from its pile of dust. Next thing you knew, you had taken the knife, your grip tightening against it.

You closed and locked the box, turning to an ajar door. You began to proceed to the door, each step echoing throughout the hall.

You could see a figure in front of the door as if they'd been placed there like a statue. You kept walking toward the door until the figure disappeared.

"Heya."

You flinch as a skeleton with a blue jacket, black shorts, and pink slippers stood a few feet away from you, the pricks in his eyes barely visible, while a pillar's shadow loomed in between you both. "You've been busy, huh?" he asked coldly.

You took a step closer, knowing how stubborn he could be sometimes. His deep laugh echoed across the hall, a forced laugh, too.

"Well, here's a question." He paused as his eyes darkened. "Do you wanna have a bad time?" Strangely, that didn't scare you. It was like all of your fear disappeared. "'Cause if you take another step forward," he continued, "You are REALLY not gonna like what happens next." You took another step forward, subconsciously gripping the knife tighter. He laughed again.

"Welp," Sans drawled, shrugging, "Sorry old lady. This is why I never make promises."

Your (F/C) soul shined within your chest, vividly. You stood, face to face against Sans, as a dark, emotionless expression somehow crept along your face. Sans chuckled as he took out a familiar red scarf from his pocket.

"It's a beautiful day outside," Sans began, his voice cracking as he stared at Papyrus' scarf, flecked with dust. Tears swelled in his eye sockets as he looked up to face you. "Birds are singing..." Sans tightened his grip on the scarf as he continued. "Flowers are blooming..." He wrapped the scarf around him as tear drops fell onto the ground. "On days like these, kids like you..." You scowled. A kid? Not likely.

Sans' eyes went dark, a blue eye beginning to flicker to life. "S H O U L D B E B U R N I N G I N H E L L."

Bones and Gaster Blasters began appearing. You barely dodged some attacks as you could hear Sans snickering. After you got past his attack, you turned around, glaring. "Huh," he said casually. "Always wondered why people never use their strongest attack first."
