"As you all know," Zones began in his gruff voice, "The Empire is continuing their campaign to expand and conquer as many worlds as possible. Currently, they are still on their  phase of magic worlds, despite the setbacks they have suffered thanks to our rebellion. Their biggest failures in this context have been the Tale dimension of Minori and Planet Nachai, both of which are now currently safe from their reach."

"Confirming Nachai is secure." Risa spoke up from the sub-window to the side of the bigger holo-screen. "Our defenses have been tightened, and our watch is steady. The Empire will not dare to assault this place again."

"They've been permanently expelled from Minori as well, even though they didn't manage to establish a large enough influence there in the first place." Tsukiko added. "The problems assailing our dimension are of no concern or relevance to the war now."

"Both of these cases have been crushing blows to the Imperial expansion." The Rebel Commander went on. "However, they have not given up on magical worlds yet, which is a big problem. If they command any more, they will gain a huge advantage over us. We cannot let that happen."

"We have a plan, though." Gizmo interjected. She was another undercover specialist, like Lib, so intel gathering was her duty.

"We do, thanks to the information you and Metro confirmed for us." Zones smiled. "Riku?"

The Commander of the Niji Army nodded and pressed a few buttons on a console on the desk. The screen zoomed in on one of the planets and on an image of a large, elegantly dressed person, just as Scarlet ran into the room, panting and fixing her hair, looking embarrassed to be late.

"Right on time to hear about the plan." Riku gave her an unimpressed look before continuing. "Our hostage, Justice Lord Xion, who is currently being held as a secret prisoner on Nexia, has kindly informed us about the next stage in the Empire's plan. They are preparing to move in on this planet right here." He pointed at the projection on the screen. "Dioxes: a unique planet with light gravity and a large concentration of gas underneath its surface. Their objective is an ancient temple said to hold an incredible arcane power that belonged to an old deity called Moon Snake. If they capture it, they could very well more than make up for their past mistakes. It is absolutely crucial we stop them from taking the temple."

Amaya squinted at the screen when the half-demon mentioned that name. If she had never heard it before... Why did it sound so familiar? Why was the mere mention of it making her shudder? She began to get gradually distracted from the meeting, trying to remember where she had heard it before and what it meant. It had to be something really important... but what was it?

"But, sir..." Ta'jir piped up. "Even if we succeed in this mission, the Empire will just keep trying to conquer other magical sites. What difference will our victory here make?"

"Good question, my man." Zones responded. "This is where the risky factor comes in."

"Oh, this is gonna get good." Lib muttered under his breath, to which Darreek cracked a quick smirk. Amaya was still pondering on Moon Snake, though. It felt like something she had forgotten, like something she used to know about a long time ago. But she was positive that wasn't the case, because she simply couldn't come up with the answer...

"We are aiming to slow their advance by demoralizing them. The idea is to send the least amount of people necessary to down the Imperial contingent headed towards Dioxes. Once they suffer this humiliating defeat, they'll have to take some time to reconsider and regroup, and that's when we recover and recruit as many of the captured magic worlds to our cause to push the Empire back. Worlds like Daphnis, for example."
