Heaven.
Standing up on two feet,
I am walking towards the sun,
It’s best to make the most of a beautiful world,
And forget the damage that has been done.
I accept that the past cannot be changed,
That the future is mine for the taking,
Alone, It is an immensely beautiful thought,
But along side it is the knowledge that in life there is no place for faking.
The sun wraps its arms around me,
Enclosing me in hope,
Giving me a glimpse of the bigger picture ahead,
Teaching me how to cope.
Clouds lift me up,
And deposit me amongst the hidden stars,
They give my skin a sudden healthy glow;
in the process wipe away my shadow like scars.
The moon makes my smile stronger,
As it continues the play back of my not so distant dreams,
It makes me feel everything I’m seeing,
I place my feet in its shallow streams.
I don’t question where I am,
For I have no desire to know as long as I don’t feel lost,
For now I’ll presume that this is heaven,
Where happiness never comes with a cost.
Tears fall from the moon,
And they land on my cheeks,
They whisper compliments,
Leaving behind a buzz that will linger for weeks.
Here and now and for the first time in months,
Things seem as close to perfect as they’ll ever be,
Within myself I feel content;
maybe this is neither a dream, nor heaven. Perhaps it’s finally reality
