Anna POV
I walked down the white halls gripping my books for my next class as I drew my attention to the posters advertising Prom, everyone was super excited but to me it was just another dance. I was hoping it wouldn't go as bad as the fall dance. I approached my next class and as I approached I saw Michael standing by the door with Ashley gripping onto his arm. When he saw me approaching his emotion of discomfort quickly changed and he placed his arm around Ashley lovingly. Was he trying to make me jealous or something?
I shoved it off and headed into class.
At lunch I sat at the usual table with Jacob and the others they weren't as bad as I thought, actually they were very welcoming. We all sat at a long table in the cafeteria, looking down at the end of the table I witnessed Michael and Ashley having another argument. It seems like they have an argument everyday.
"You going Anna?" I heard August asked. Considering I hadn't been listening to the conversation around me I had no idea what he was talking about.
"Going where?" I asked coming out of my daze.
"Prom silly," Tori said with a chuckle.
"Oh," I laughed, " I don't know....I don't even have a date."
"Me neither," August said with a shrug.
"You..don't have a date? That's a first," I smiled raising my eyebrows.
" Haven't found a girl of interest," he replied as he looked down at me with a smile.
"We should all go together," Jacob chimed in, "It'll be fun."
Everyone agreed. Just then the bell rang and we headed off to class.
We walked down the hall as Tori and Megan talked about their dresses. " Omg...I don't have a dress," I said suddenly coming to the realisation.
"How could you not have a dress? Prom is Saturday," Megan said spinning around.
"Well you know what that means," Tori said.
"Shoppingggg," we all said in unison. The guys groaned at our excitement.
I never liked shopping before but now I have found my style and what I liked I kinda got into it ,plus this change made my mom happy, she keeps buying me clothes and offering to do my hair and make up.
We laughed. "Yah'll can come if you want" I said jokingly.
"Noooo," Issa responded as he waved his hands, " we busy."
"Busy doing what?" Tori asked with a smile.
"Nothing, but we'll find something," Jacob laughed.
We reached the cross section in the hallway and headed to our different classes.
"See you guys in Chemistry," Jacob said as he rolled down the left hallway with Issa walking next to him.
JACOB POV
"Dudee, we look good," Issa commented as him, August and I told in the mirror of the store. We were getting our suits and tux for the night.
I walked up to the mirror gripping my cane/crutch to have a closer look. The young female clerk walked up to us with a broad smile on her face, "You guys look fantastic," she smiled. She looked about our age with her light brown hair neatly in a bun, she wore a straight black skirt, a black shirt with the company name on it and black pumps to match.
"Thanks," we all said in unison.
She looked up at me and then down at my feet. "You don't use your wheelchair anymore?" she asked.
I looked up and her to see if I had recognised her but I didn't. " Yeah, I use it but I plan to use my this for prom so I could dance," I replied pointing to the crutch, " I can walk now but not too much walking, I'm still training."
"Ohh.. that's really impressive," she smiled.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but I don't recognise you, how do you know me?" I asked suddenly.
" I know," she giggled, " I see you around the neighbourhood,My name is Tara I live two houses down."
"Ohh, did you move there recently?" I asked.
"Yep," Tara said cheerfully, " about two weeks ago."
"Invite her to our prom," August coughed as he hit his chest pretending to have a serious cough.Issa snickered as I glared at both of them.
"Well, what kind of neighbour would I be if I didn't give you a proper welcome, " I smiled turning back to her, " What are you doing Saturday night?"
"Nothing," she smiled flirtatiously, "you got plans for me?"
"Yeah, wanna come to my prom?" I asked smoothly.
"I would be honored," she smiled, " I've never been to a prom before."
"Why not?" Issa who was ease-dropping asked suddenly.
"My prom was last week but I had to work," she sighed.
"Well, you get to come to ours," I smiled.
"I'm excited," she smiled. The guys and I changed back into our street clothes and handed them to Tara to cash. With our bags we decided to get something to eat before we headed home.
"See you Saturday Tara," I said as I left the store. She smiled and waved.
