"My parents need to meet you!" I blurt out.
Dipper looks at me with curiosity in his eyes, "why? Can't they just believe you and get on with their lives?"
I put my hands on my hips, "no, they believe me -at least my sister did- but they still need to meet my. . .fiance."
"Did you already tell them they could come here?" He sighs, already sensing my plan.
I nod slowly and he looks upset, "I'm sorry! I just knew that you'd act like this-"
"So why did you do it at all?" He fires back, his voice raising. "If you knew that I'd act like this then why?!"
"Because my parents need to meet you!" I shout. "Even if this is fake, they still need to know!"
His eyes harden and I fear his penetrating gaze, "when will they be arriving?"
"Tomorrow." I say quietly, "for dinner."
He looks perturbed by my little secret but his heaves another sigh, "then we'd better prepare dinner." He walks into the kitchen and I follow behind him.
"Thank you, Dipper." I tell him over and over again, "this really means a lot to me."
"Why do you want them to meet me?" He asks quietly, and it sounds eerie. Dipper Gleeful is never quiet, so this is all strange to me. "I mean, you could just tell them about what really happened and why we're together but you don't, why do you care about my reputation?"
I gulp and look away from his face, that is searching mine for answers. "I d-dunno, it's not for your reputation, it's for my job." I come up with that little response on the spot and hope that it keeps him at bay.
He stays quiet for the longest time and I hate the silence around us, it makes things more awkward than it should be. "What should we make?" I ask. "I-I mean-"
"I was actually hoping you would pick it out." He says, his voice returning to its natural volume. "Any ideas?"
"How about. . ."

"For the hundredth time, you do not need to wear that!" I crack a smile at Dipper's attire. His hair is messy like he just got out of bed and he is wearing a crisp black suit, no doubt that it's new. "My parents aren't royalty, they just wanna meet you."
"But-"
"No buts except yours in the bedroom changing your outfit." I giggle and push him into his room. "Wear something ordinary!"
My outfit is natural and it's something my parents would definitely expect me to wear; blue jeans and a nice white t-shirt. I hear the car pull up the driveway and I can't help but feel excited. "Dipper they're here!" I say with glee and I hear him groan. "Don't be like this, or they'll suspect something!" I warn him before walking to the front door.
I open the door and smile widely. "Mom, dad!" I wrap them both in a tight hug, "come in, come in! Where's Pam and Patrick?"
My mother, Priscilla --ironically Mabel will get a kick out of that-- , gapes at the large Manor. "When did you find a place like this?"
"This is my boyfriend's house," I say hoping my parent won't see through my facade. "Come on in!" I practically have to drag them in.
"Your boyfriend's house?" My father, Preston, looks suspicious already.
"He'll be out in a minute," I tell them and look for Pam and Patrick. "Pam!" I squeal when I see my older sister. I run towards her and hug her tightly. "It's been forever! Where's my bro?"
Patrick steps from behind Pam and gives me a wave, "hey sis! You live here now?"
I choose to ignore his question and led them all to the sitting room instead. "Wait right here," I almost run out of the room to find Dipper. On my way up the stairs I collide with him and almost fall but he catches me. "Dipper," I say as he pulls me right side up. "They're dying to meet you,"
"I doubt it," he murmurs and I get a chance to look at his change of outfit; black jeans and a white top. I was glad I went against wearing my black jeans because otherwise we would have matched and that would have been extremely awkward.
He follows me downstairs and waits before entering the living room. "You must be Pacifica's parents," he gives them all a killer smile and extends a hand, "I'm Dipper Gleeful, it's lovely to finally meet all of you."
My parents' eyes go wide at his polite tone, but my father takes his hand, "it's a pleasure to meet you as well. This is my wife, Priscilla,"
Dipper eyes me and I hold my breath to keep from laughing. "Dinner will be served any minute."

After dinner I gather everyone into the living room and prepare for my big announcement. "Guys," I say slowly like I'm drawing out a breath. "I have some news for all of you."
"Ooh! What?" Patrick seems genuinely interested in what I'm about to say. "Tell us Pazzie!" He says using my childhood nickname which I despise.
I take a deep breath and look over at Dipper who suddenly grabs my hand and holds it tightly. I look into his eyes and then turn to my family. "Dipper and I are engaged."
