Dipper

Fucking hell.

I yawn and wrap my arms around an empty space. She left. I should have known. I get up slowly and stretch my arms above my head before officially calling myself 'awake'. I walk over to my closet and figure out what exactly I should wear.

Pacifica left. She fucking left.

I pull a pair of boxers on, then I grab my black slacks and put those on. What time is it? I quickly check my phone and my eyes widen. It's past five in the afternoon, which means I slept through the day. And she could have chosen any time to make a run for it.

I walk out of my bedroom, trying to fix my awful looking hair before anyone, if anyone, sees it. I hear footsteps in the hall and I feel. . .excited? I walk to meet them and instantly recoil when I see that it's only my great uncle's new wife.

"Of fucking course," I mumble aloud. "What are you two doing back so early?" I ask walking towards her.

She only rolls her eyes at me, "our honeymoon is over. And you can finally go back to London."

Shit. "Your honeymoon is over? Ford!" I call in the general direction of downstairs. I walk quickly down the stairs and spot Ford carrying in bags from the car. Had they just gotten back? "Ford," I say.

"Oh Dipper, just the man I needed to talk to," he says as he puts down the bags in the sitting room.

"I can say the same thing," I cross my arms over my chest, realizing now that I had forgotten to put on a shirt. "Are you taking the company?" I ask.

"What do you mean?" He returns my question with a question. I fucking hate it.

"Are you going back to work at Tech G?" I roll my eyes and try not to get frustrated with him.

"Yes I am," he tells me quietly. "You don't mind do you?"

I can't figure out what to say. "It's not really my company." I say, instead of answering his question.

"True," he agrees. "But are you going back so soon?"

"Back where?" I ask, confused.

"Back to London, you idiot," he shakes his head at me. "So are you?"

"I dunno," I admit. "I do like it here," what the fuck am I saying? I don't like it here, that's a completely lie.

"You do?" He raises a brow. "That's quite strange."

"The town's grown on me," I lie. "That's all. I'm used to it. The streets aren't busy, like in London."

"Oh I think it's something else," Maxine decides it's the perfect time to interrupt our serious conversation.

I scowl at her and she only grins in return. Ford looks at us like he's missing out on a joke. "What's going on here?"

"I think your great nephew is in," she pauses and walks up right next to me. "L O V E."

"Love?" I scoff, "no fucking way."

"Language," Maxine warns but I ignore her. "Who's the unlucky lady who fell into your clutches?"

"No one," I reply through gritted teeth. "I am definitely not in love. Love is overrated, reality isn't."

Ford glances at Maxine, "what makes you say he's in love?"

Maxine chuckles, "it's easy to tell the real reason a man doesn't want to leave. He found someone he's caught in interest on."

"Not true," I scowl at her. "I haven't found anyone." Translation: I'm not capable of loving. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to pack." I walk past the two imbeciles and up the stairs to avoid them both for a little while.

I finish packing up my suitcase and I can't find my fucking passport. Of course I can't. I do a quick search around my room can't find it anywhere. "Fucking hell," I say as I walk over to my now vacant dresser and check the time of the flight. Ten at night still stands. I sigh and retrace my steps from Ford's and Maxine's wedding, the first time I actually needed my passport to see family.

Mabel had to know where it was. But I couldn't ask her, without her telling Pacifica. Not that Pacifica would care, she left me, and I'm just going off on my own.

I finally find my passport in a pocket of my suitcase and grab it. If I hurry, I could just make the seven thirty flight. I snatch my suitcases and hurry down the stairs.

"Dipper,"

My uncle's voice stops me from opening the door. I turn around and look at him. "Yes?"

"You will. . .you will visit, won't you?" He asks quietly.

"What do you mean?" I roll my eyes, "of course I'll visit."

He frowns and his silver eyes harden. "That's what you told everyone when you left. Your family hasn't seen you in three years, and you show up for two weeks, then leave. Tell me you'll at least contact us? Especially Mabel, you know she actually needs her brother around to beat up guys who break up with her." He chuckles.

"Ah, I think she can handle that fine on her own." I joke back and smile slightly. "I'll come back to visit, if work doesn't keep me busy."

He looks at me seriously, "don't hurt your sister. She's already been through so much." He whispers.

"I know," I snap. "Goodbye Ford,"

And now started my new life.
