We were all sitting in the living room, Damon next to me. We were watching the kids play, they were cute. I couldn't wrap my mind around it, that me and Damon were going to be parents, I don't know when. I look like I'm eight months pregnant and it's only been a few weeks. I was thinking a lot about everything. How would I deliver? Would I make it to full term? Am I going to die?
Edward was staring at me, it was weird, I felt like he knew what I was thinking.
He smiled. What the heck?!
He then chuckled and said "I read minds"
No wonder.
"I can answer some of your questions if you'd like, my wife Bella was human when she became pregnant with Renesemee." He said.
I smiled slightly. "She's beautiful"
"Thanks!" A little voice said from below me "and your pretty too!"
I smiled at her "Thank you Re-" she cut me off
"No, call me by my nickname!! Nessie!"
I smiled a bit and said "Alright Nessie"
"Ness why don't you, Jazz and Jax go see if grandma needs help in the kitchen?" Edward said looking down at the three kids.
She giggled "okay daddy! Come on!" Her, Jazlyn and Jaxon ran off to the direction of the kitchen.
"She was born just six months ago"
Damons eye brows furrowed a bit
"Six?" I said
He nodded.
"Her growth rate is incredibly fast" Carlisle said
"Jazlyn and Jaxon were born five months ago" Alice said after looking at Jasper.
"How long were you both pregnant for?" Bella sat down in a chair across from me but in between us was a coffee table.
"One month" she said
My eyes widened "one month?" Holy crap.
Alice and Bella nodded.
The baby started kicking, a lot.
"Damon." I said, with my hands over my belly.
He looked at me "what's wrong?" Worry grew over his perfect face.
"The baby..is kicking"
He then placed his hand on my stomach and smiled. "We love you"
I smiled down at my stomach "we love you so much, little guy" I knitted my eyebrows together for a slight moment and let out a small breath "or whatever you, are"
Edward was watching us, then he muttered out something "It loves you too"
Damon looked up "What?"
"I can read it's mind"
"What's going on? What's he doing?" I asked, slightly concerned.
"It's strange, when Bella was pregnant with Renesemee I could hear the same thing, he likes the sound of your voice, and, yours" and said looking at me and then Damon.
Damon smiled and said "hey little guy"
A question popped into my mind. "How will I deliver?"
"Since your a vampire and can heal, we'll see if you can deliver naturally but if you can't we'll do an emergency c-section. But I'm not sure how your body will handle it, I haven't heard of a vampire having a natural birth. And I'm not sure when you'll go into labor, it could happen at any time considering the size of the baby." Carlisle said with an unsure expression on his face.
I was scared to go into labor, I could die, the baby could die, so many things could happen.
Maybe I could get an ultrasound, I haven't had one the whole pregnancy- it's only been three months.
"Yes" I heard Edward say.
I had a confused look on my face.
"Your question, yes Carlisle can do an ultrasound" he looked at Carlisle, who nodded.
A seconds later, Emmett came in holding a crying Jazlyn, that had what looked like cookie dough all over her.
"Duty calls, dude." Emmett snickered out looking at Jasper.
"What happened?" Jasper said as worry grew in his eyes.
"Cookie dough fight, 911!" Esme ran up the stairs looking at Edward, Bella, Alice and Jasper.
They all scattered into the kitchen to go tend to there kids. In a few weeks or- even days that will be me and Damon. It was crazy to think that. Carlisle then brought me and Damon into his office for an ultrasound. I laid on the table and pulled up my shirt. My belly had hand and foot print shaped bruises all over it. Damons hand intertwined with mine and Carlisle started the ultrasound.
Black and white coloring showed up on the screen. You could clearly see a baby, a normal looking baby, it was big, it looked full grown. Carlisle pointed and said
"There's your baby" with a soft, sweet tone in his voice.
I smiled and looked up at Damon who was staring at the screen, amazed with a smile growing on his face. Amazed that there was a baby inside me, his baby, that it was possible. The moment was sweet, it felt like everything was right and everything was going to be okay but I didn't know that for sure. I didn't know if our baby was going to be okay, or if I was. For the rest of the afternoon we talked with the others. Damon and I admired Renessmee and the others, knowing that soon we'd have a baby who'd grow into a child, then a teenager and then an adult. I still needed to know some things like- Will the baby/child grow as fast as the others? What about school and other activities?
