Chapter 10- THE BABY.

It was later that night, I was laying on the couch. Everyone was scattered around me, chatting or making sure I was okay. Damon had come back from getting firewood but had to go out again with Carlisle, Esme, Bella, Jasper and Emmett to feed. Carlisle knew I was due, so he wanted to be strong when the baby came. Jake was reading the kids a story but the Fire that was burning. It didn't feel like the fire helped much, I was freezing.

"Elena?" I heard a quiet voice say as I looked up to see Renesmee.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Can you play with me and Jazzy?" She asks innocently.

I smile slightly "Yeah, sure"

"No, no, no, no!!" I hear a high voice say in panic as I hear her heels thudding against the floor as she nears the couch, I look around to see Alice. "Your supposed to be resting, girls why don't u go and dress Jake up?"

Jazlyn's face lit up and looked at Renesmee who had a smirk on her face as those words came out of Alice's mouth.

I didn't mind playing with them, I was feeling alright. "No, Alice. It's fine." I say with a promising smile playing on my lips. As I was getting up, I felt my legs buckle underneath me and I fell onto my knees. I clutched my stomach as cramping pain started to spread throughout my abdomen and back. Alice's eyes then widened.

"Elena? Elena, what's wrong?!" Her worried, high pitch voice shouted at me.

All I could manage to mutter out was "the baby...something's wrong.."

Edwards P.O.V

I felt my eyes widen as I saw Elena fall onto her knees.

"What's happening?!" I yell.

"Shit, shit, shit!" Rosalie panics.

"Rose! Stop panicking! We ne- the babies coming now, Jacob get the kids out of here! And Edward, help me get her into Carlisle's office! Rose, get the emergency kit that's hidden in the bathroom!" She shouts. "Go!" I rush over to Elena who's weak and barely conscious. I put my arms under her in a cradling position and rush to Carlisles office with Alice following.

Jakes P.O.V

"Jake?" I hear an innocent and shaky voice ask. I lift my head up and to see Ness standing in front of me with tears in her eyes.

"Ness? Whats wrong?" I asked trying to figure out why she's crying.

"Is..is Elena gonna die?" She breaths and shaky breath out.

What do I say? I've never had to answer something like this before.

"I don't know, Ness." I mumble.

"But, what about the baby?" Her face confused and innocently staring at me.

"I don't know, Ness. Why don't we go play in your room for a little bit, okay?" I say

She nods and mumbles 'okay' then brings me into her room with Jazlyn following. Jaxon was out with the boys, he needed to feed and he didn't exactly want to stay here.

Edwards P.O.V

I vamp sped over to Carlisles over as fast as I could with Elena in my arms with Alice and Rosalie following behind me.

We made it to his office when Alice realized something- 'her placenta has detached' shit, shit, shit, okay okay.

"Well is somebody going to tell me what the hell is going on?!" Rosalie snapped.

"Her placenta has detached, we only have minutes to get the baby out before they both die" Alice explained, rushing over to Elena and checking her vital signs.

"I can hear that baby, it still has a heartbeat, it's alive" I stated.

I could see panic in Alice's eyes. "Okay Rosalie call Damon and the others now! Alice, start prepping her for a C"

Her eyes widened "A C-section?! Are you kidding? We can't do one here, at least not without Carlisle"

"Alice, NOW! We don't have time! If we're going to save them both, we need to do it now!" I shouted with adrenalin pumping through my body.

She hesitated, then nodded. Rosalie ran out of the room- to call Damon and the others I'm guessing.

"Edward, there's no iodine!" She yells, panicked.

I then turn my head and spot a big jar of hand sanitizer "Grab that!" I yell as she scrambles over to the jar of sanitizer and tosses it to me.

I drench her bruised stomach in hand sanitizer then raise the scalpel over her stomach.

"Edward. You can do it." Alice says, encouraging me.

I hesitated then nodded and proceeded to make the cut.
