It's been two weeks and something's off with Riley. She's been distant and I'm pretty sure something's up. I have to find out what's bugging her, but what if she knows about Nicole?  Everything would go downhill from there. Uggghhhh why am I overthinking everything ?

"LUCAS," I heard.

"Yes?!" I respond. I prop myself on my elbows. I look in the direction the voice came from.

Maya's head popped out from the door,
"Riley's gone right?"

"Yea..." I drift off.

"Well someone's here for you," she scoffed," YOU CAN COME IN...." She yells.

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion and take a sip from my water bottle that was lying next to me. I choked on it then spit it out when I saw who came through the door.

"I'll leave you two alone. Oh and Lucas don't do anything stupid," Maya said with devil eyes. I still stood there in shock. I climb down my bed and face her.

"Ni- Nicole. What are you doing here?" I stutter. I look down at the ground trying to avoid her as much as I could.

"I came here for you. I couldn't take it anymore. I-I missed you. But I'm here now and I'm staying for a few so we can work on getting back to where we were," she rants. She takes a few steps closer to me

"Nikki...." I say while scratching the back of my neck.

"What..."

"Things have changed."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean..How do I say this," I start to panic. I don't want to break her heart again. I already did when I left her for college and that broke my heart too. But I have to because Riley makes me really happy.

"Just spill it please," her eyes advert to the brown hardwood floor.

I sigh loudly, "This isn't easy for me to say, but...I met someone else."

"Oh."

"She makes me really happy," I smile sadly as I remember the memories at Miami, but then again I was sad because I broke the heart of my first love...again.

"Oh. Well, then I'll leave you two to enjoy ur relationship. It was nice being your girlfriend Lucas. I wish you the best."

I run my fingers through my hair, "Thank you...and I'm sorry."

"Hey, don't be. If you're happy, then I'm happy that you're happy. I just have to do something before I leave," she fiddles with her fingers.

"What is that?"

She walks up closer to me and places her small hand on my cheek. She pecks my lips.

"Hey, Lucas do you wa-" a voice I know too well said.

I immediately stop and look up to see a frozen Riley. A tear slips from her eye.

"Riley," I start.

"No, I see. I guess that our relationship wasn't that important. God I knew I should've never gone this fast," she whispers the last part to herself.

"No Riley-" I start again.

"Is this her?" Nicole says while pointing at Riley.

"Yes," I sigh,"Riley this isn't what-"

"Oh, hi I'm Nicole. Lucas's ex" she introduces herself. She holds her hand out for Riley to shake but Riley never did.

"Alright. Riley. I can expl-" I get cut off once again. My temper is starting to rise. They're not letting me speak and its frustrating.

"Yea I know," Riley stated while crossing her arms.
