Katniss and Peeta Happy Ever After

The Memoiral Service

These past two days have passed by so quick. Today is a memorial service that Effie told me about. Peeta and I are going to the caption to check this service out. It will also be televised. I am a little scared of what to expect and I know I will probably break down even though I don't want to. I squeeze Peeta's hand that is intertwined with mine. He gives me an assuring sweet smile. The train begins to take off. Shortly after we babe arrived at the Capitol. So many people are here for the memorial. We begin to walk towards the center of the Capitol where I see a giant statue. It's a girl that has a mocking jay dress on just like the dress Cinna designed for me. She looks confident and strong. Next her stands a plaque.
"Katniss Everdeen, Panems Mocking Jay. She was born in district 12. Her sister Primrose Everdeen was reaped and Katniss volunteered for her. Katniss was districts 12 first and only. Katniss and Peeta, who was the male reaper from her district, were the only ones left in the games. One of them to die but Katniss was not giving Snow what he wanted. She and Peeta began to eat poisons berries but Seneca Crane stopped them just in time and declared them both winners. Katniss showed snow up. This lead to a rebellion which a Katniss won but lost many loved ones.

I'm in tears after reading this. The statue and plaque stand alone surrounding by primroses and dandelions. Peeta stands bye hugging my waist and resting his chin on my shoulder. There is a large screen that plays a slide show of the day of my reaping through the rebellion. There are pictures of prim, my mother, father, Gale, Peeta, Cinna, my prep team, and Effie. All the pictures have captions. We begin to enter the museum which is a path from my statue. The museum is high ceilings and says "Panem Before" one room is all dedicated to Cinna. Pictures of him hang all through out the room. Flat screen tv's show slide shows of him designing beautiful clothes and me wearing them. We go through many other rooms until we reach Finnick's. I tear rolls down my eye. We saved Peeta for me twice. He also died because of me and his son will never know him. I try to keep together but tear start to run downy face like a water fall. People look at me sympathetically. I tell Peeta I'm fine and we walk to the next rooms. I see a photo of Rue and start to cry hard. I bury my face in Peeta's chest. We see a room for Johanna, Mags, Annie, Cato, Thresh, Clove, Glimmer, Marvel, Beetee, and so many more. Basically who ever participated in the games had their own room of a stair of them and photos and clips. We reach Peeta's room. I see a photo of him working in the bakery when he was young. He is smiling with his family except his mother. She was a bit nasty towards him. I see the clip where Peeta confesses he loves me to Caesar on the stage. This is when we were in the first games. I smile and think how lucky I am to have him. Peeta notices me smiling and asks, "What are you thinking about beautiful?"
"You. And how lucky I am to have you." I state and stare into his memorizing eyes. He kisses me soft but lovingly. Boy do I love my boy with the bread.
The next room is all about Peeta and I. It's a timeline across all the walls. It's digital or soothing that the Capitol can do. It starts from the day I saw Peeta throw me the bread then to my reaping and the rebellion. There are dates and you touch them and I video appears and shows what happens that day. There is room for our future. Oh gosh that means kids. I know I don't have to have kids I don't want to but I want to make Peeta happy. Also it might be safe though I'm scared they may be taken away from me like my father and Prim. The is empty shelves and lots of room for our future so I guess they will need photos of our wedding. I see the rumble of district 12 after the bombing and a photo of it now. There is photos of our house that the photographers took of us too. Then a video that is labeled "The Memorial" it shows me volunteering for Prim and up until now. We go inside to learn that our day is much not over. Tonight is a ceremony.

Peeta and I are dressed and ready to go to the ceremony. I don't know what we will be doing at the ceremony because no one will tell me. Big doors open infringement of us like we are going on stage. And it turns out we are walking out on a stage before I know it. There are so many people below us. Paylor is on the stage also and introduces is. Her and Caesar and sitting next to us. "Welcome to Pans first annual lighting ceremony!!" Caesar shouts enthusiastically. Everyone has a candle in there hands.
"Tonight we are gathered here to remember those who fought in the hungar games and rebellion or any loved ones who have passed. On the count of 3 we will sing our new national anthem, the mocking jay tune Rue and Katniss sang. It will means rest in peach fellow loved ones." A countdown starts while faces who died in the games appear in the sky. On three everyone including Peeta and I lite out candles and pressed a button that floated the candles away into the dark sky filled with stars. Meanwhile everyone sang the mocking jay tune and I saw Rue in my head. I smiled at this moment. Then all of Panem screamed "WE THANK OUR MOCKINGJAY" towards me. Peeta said it too. I wish prim was here to see this.
