I Say Yes

"Paladins!! Come on let's go!! Get up, you lazy lumps!! You're getting a day off!!" Yelled an accented voice that rang through the halls of the dorm section of the Altean castle that you could tell came from the ginger haired man . But, having to been training all night, Pidge and Keith sat up groggily in their beds, parallel to each other so every morning the first thing they saw was each other. Pidge, being the younger one of the two, let out a cute and tiny sneeze before yawning, the action spreading to Keith like a virus. "Morning~," Keith said as the 19 year old girl got up from her position on the bed and walked into the bathroom after replying with a small, "Morning, Keith." She let out a sigh full of fatigue and grumpiness while she washed her face and put her growing auburn hair into a messy bun. Keith chuckled at her laziness and went into the closet to retrieve his clothes for the day. As he was putting on his dark blood red jacket, he noticed something off about his usually peppy and excited girlfriend. She didn't go over to the computer to check the time, and she didn't have the same enthusiastic morning personality that Keith thought was adorable. Opening up about his curiosity, he went over to Pidge and asked, "Hey, you ok? You seem off." She turned away from the mirror that she was using to brush her hair with a sad smile on her face. "I miss Shiro. He was like a second father to me," she frowned and looked off into the wide, open space filled with stars and constellations that could be seen outside the window of the little room they shared. The 23 year old boy went over to the much shorter girl and hugged her from behind, resting his chin on the top of her head. "Me too. Allura has an even bigger responsibility now that she pilots the black lion," I say as take my chin off her head to let her finnish brushing her hair so she can get dressed for the day. (A/N: let's be honest, do you really think the red lion would just give Keith away???) "True. I feel sorry for her. She still hasn't gotten over the fact that he's gone. Or should I say 'SHIROGANE'?!" She said as she made a silly face, making Keith chuckle at her joke. "Whatever. Now hurry up, or Coran's gonna get pissed." She laughed making Keith smile lovingly. Today was the day. It was the day he was going to propose to his beautiful and smart (uhh, not to mention, totally badass!) girlfriend that he had been dating for 5 years now. He walked out of the room to let her Finnish getting ready and strolled down the hallway to the lounge area, where he found Hunk and Lance. Hunk got up. "you got the ring? Dude, you need the ring! What's a proposal without a ring?!" He rambled in about all the possible things that could go wrong. Lance put a hand on Hunk's shoulder, saying, " Dude, why are you the one who's worried?! Keith is the one who should be worried!" Hunk and Lance continued to argue about who should worry until they heared a familiar hoarse voice. "What's this I hear about a proposal?" All three of the boys turned around to see the lost paladin, leading against the wall weakly. "Shiro!" They all exclaimed, excited to see their 'Space Dad'. They quickly went over to aid the man as they saw he was injured and weak. As soon as Shiro sat down on the couch, Pidge came running out of her and Keith's room, wearing a grey sweater and black ripped jeans with her medium length hair flowed behind her neck in a ponytail, ever so nicely brushing against her skin. Once she got to the lounge, she ran straight for Shiro, hugging him and saying how much she missed him. He had missed a lot. He hadn't been around for 5 years. Now, as a 19 year old, she was dating the red paladin, had found and returned her family to their home on earth, and had been apart of the defeats of Zarkon and Prince Lotor. She had become more mature, physically and mentally. She was taller and wore more feminine clothes instead of her old green sweater she used to disguise herself as a boy. Although the team knew her real name, Katie Holt, they still addressed her as Pidge, mainly because the had known her as that person. Once they pulled away from the tackle hug that the girl gave her 'Space Dad', she turned to look at the three of the boys, Keith, Lance, and Hunk, standing there. She motioned them to join the hug, and the small group hug ended up in all of them on top of Shiro. They were laughing, each one of them either filled with joy, relief, or both. Pidge tried to get out of the pile of Paladins so all of them could aid and talk to the man who had been missing for too long. But, she accidentally pushed Keith, who was on top of her, and ended up rolling down the hill of humans with Keith on top of her. He took the chance to peck her on the lips, receiving a cute smile from the auburn haired girl under him. He got to his feet and helped his little girlfriend up. "Oh, I defiantly missed something,"Said Shiro, chuckling at their blushing reaction to his statement. Pidge put her hand into Keith's, intertwining their fingers so it was almost impossible for their hands to slip out of each others. Lance smirked, cooing like a little child, " Yup. You missed a lot. Pidge and Keith are dating, and Keith was planning on proposing today~!" Both Keith and Lance went wide-eyed. Lance, of fear, and Keith of embarrassment. The red paladin looked over to the tanned boy in rage and embarrassment. Keith started to chase the blue paladin around the lounge area, trying to avoid any questions from Pidge or Shiro. Especially Pidge. "GUYS!! STOP ACTING LIKE CHILDREN OR I SWEAR I WILL TELL SPACE MOM!!" Yelled the small girl, obviously caught off guard from the sudden fact that was shot to her. "Keith. Room. Now." She pointed down the white and grey hall. Keith's head hung down slightly as he and Pidge walked down the hall to their room. Keith opened the door to let the lady in first, like a gentleman. He followed behind the shorter girl, feeling as if he were about to be rejected. Pidge sat on her bed, looking at him. "I say yes," she says, small tears appearing in the little corners of her eyes. Keith slapped a confused face on. saying, "What?" "I say yes, Mullet,"she smiled as Keith understood what she was saying. She was accepting the proposal that Keith hadn't even done. Pidge got up from her seat on the bed and walked over to Keith, hugging him tightly as he hugged her back. " I love you," he whispered into her ear, sending a little shiver down Pidge's back. "Prove it," she pressed her lips onto Keith's and yanked him onto the bed. The  rest of the day was filled with peace, love, and a possible future addition to the Space Family.

A/N: Hi! I hope you liked my first one-shot book so far! My schedule is a little tight, due to schooling and medical issues, so updates may be slow. Don't worry! I'm ok! I just have a few things that need to be taken care of. But this coming summer I should be all free and updates may be more frequent. Im going to Texas for the summer to visit my cousin and grandparents with my 2 year old sister, so I will not be able to write for 4 days in the summer.
