Once we had our lunch in hand, I glanced around the crowded cafeteria before following Jen to our usual table with our friends; Austin, the bastard who was allegedly checking out Emma, Patrick and Patrick's boyfriend Cody. Patrick and Cody are probably the cutest couple I'd ever seen, next to Emma and I of course. Cody and Patrick have been together for about a year and they're as happy as can be.
"Well hello, stranger, Long time no see...or hear," Patrick says, although it's directed at Jen. Jen's face changes from complete and utterly happy to worried.
"Hey, Pat! Listen, Jax already yelled at me. I don't want you to be mad either," Jen says, eyeing Patrick worriedly as she awaits a response.
"I'm not mad," Pat says "I kept myself busy while you were away," Pat explains, taking a loving glance at Cody who smiles at Jen.
"Hey, Jenny!" He says in a happy tone with a small wave.
"Hey, Cody!" Jen responds with an equally happy tone.
Then, I remember the fact that Emma had hinted that Austin was checking her out. My eyebrows furrow as I take a glance at Austin with narrowed eyes.
"Hey Austin," I begin slowly "have you been checking out Emma?" I ask. Austin glances up at me. Austin's hands go up in mock surrender.
"Jackson, she's hot what do you expect me to do?" Austin asks and I stare at him for a second, pausing to take a few deep breaths.
"Look, you're my best friend don't ruin it because you're a man whore," I say in an angry tone.
"Oh please Jax, you couldn't hurt a fly if you wanted to," Says Emma as she comes to sit on my lap.
I chuckled, "When it comes to you and Jen, you'd be surprised about who I would hurt," I say while giving her a kiss on her cheek.
"Hey, Jax remember when you whooped Austin's ass for slapping Jen's ass?" Cody said while laughing, "That was the funniest shit ever man," He said while laughing hysterically.
"Hey, Cody how about you go deep throat Patrick in boys bathroom again," Austin says while laughing.
"Austin lets be honest, you wish I was deep throating you instead of Austin," Cody says Flirtingly.
Everyone started laughing. I feel like our table was probably the loudest.
I looked at Jen and saw her and Mike talking, Mike is whispering in her ear and she's giggling like a school girl, it's weird to watch.
I look at Hayley and she's staring at them as well. But it wasn't a stare of disgust, it was a stare of jealousy.
"So Jen when are you and Mike getting married?" asks Emma. "You two have been together for four years now, its time," She says Jokingly.
Jen laughs. "Uh...I don't know, we're still in high school ya know," she says as she looks at Mike.
"Yea give us three more years, it'll happen," Says Mike as he leans over to give Jen a kiss on her neck.
"Well I've decided to take Katie to the movies Friday," Says Jake
Everyone looks at him. Little did Jake know Katie has liked him for almost a year now.
Katie is next to him blushing.
Jen yells, "FINALLY!, I've been waiting for you two to go on a date for far too long," she says.
"Well Katie is really smart and sexy so I thought why not," He says as he grabs her hand.
"Well aren't you two cute." Says Hayley while she's texting on her phone.
"Dont you have a history of cheating on your girlfriends Jake?" She asks.
"He's not like that anymore Hayley, and he only cheated on you," Katies says annoyingly
"And whats gonna stop him from cheating on you?"
"The fact that Katie's pussy is probably tighter than your," Patrick says laughing
"Oooooh burn," says Austin
"You cant say "Ooooh burn" because you slept with her too," I said.
Austin's smile fades. "Not funny dude,"
"Let's be honest every guy at this table has slept with Hayley except Patrick, Cody, and Jax," says Melissa.
Everyone starts laughing. " Well, mike hasn't slept with her," Jen says knowingly
"Uh huh sure he hasnt, next to Austin, mike is probably the biggest man-slut at this table," Says Vanessa.
"Nah he's not dumb enough to sleep with Hayley," I say knowingly.
"You're right he's not because he's gonna have to take that ass whooping from you if he does," Says Emma.
"Whatever, Jax cannot beat my ass," Says mike.
Cody fake coughs "Lies told by Mike," he says. Everyone started laughing, even Jen, I'm glad she was able to take it as a joke, most girls wouldn't, but Jen isn't the jealous type.
"I'm waiting for Luke and Melissa to hook up," says Emma
"Oh that's happening already," says Melissa.
"WHAT?!" Says, everyone.
"Yea we've been hooking up for 6 months now."
"Melissa why didn't you tell us?" says Emma.
"Well I kind of thought yall would've figured it out, I mean we have been flirting with each other more than usual,"
"Yea we dont pay attention to you that much," says Hayley.
"You dont pay attention to anything but your phone and dick," says Melissa
"How about we change the subject," says Jen.
Everyone agrees. Emma starts messing with my hair as if she's gonna restyle it. I like my hair the way it is.
"You should add highlights to your hair," she suggests.
"Yea I like my hair the way it is, I prefer not to add unnecessary chemicals to it,"I say as I look at her. She has highlights in her hair and it suits her perfectly. She has talked about cutting her hair but she hasn't done it yet.
The bell rings indicating that lunch is over and we all throw away our trash and heads to our lockers to get what we need for our next class.
After we all go our separate ways for class i see Jen and Mike making out by her locker. I have an urge to interrupt but I dont. I walk to my class and take a seat next to Austin. I can't wait for this day to be over with.
This year --with everyone back...especially Jen--I'm beginning to get a feeling this isn't going to be a normal year.
