Madeline is 8 Years old. The year is 2001 and she is in year one at school. She has no friends and almost no relationship with her real father the Grim Reaper. She likes Rob and Cassie as they do special things with her. Her parents take her adventures such as camping trips and long walks in the beach. She loves life but wants to understand her real father more. The Grim Reaper loves Madeline very much but doesn't understand children, or any people for that matter. Any attempts to bond go horribly wrong. The Grimm Reaper has taken up many hobbies to help soothe his boring life and when he tries to include Madeline in them they never quite work out. Like the time they were cooking and nearly set the house on fire or like that time when Madeline was trapped on the roof for 3 hours when she tried to her the soccer ball down. At school Madeline was hopeless. She was a happy girl but very shy. She also daydreamed. A lot. And for this she could never learn anything. She didn't understand plus sums,
couldn't read or sing her ABC's. She was a wreck. Her imagination took her places no ordinary 8 year old would. These events she experienced with her imaginary friends felt powerfully real to her. Like when Cassie asked her how school was she would start telling her how she saved a planet from invading robots from the future with Dr Seuss, Explore ancient catacombs and climb Mount Everest, and then have dinner at Leonardo Da Vinci's House. Her parents were stunned that she knew all about those famous people and places, since she didn't have a television, no friends and couldn't read. When asking the Grim Reaper about it he just shrugged and walked away. Now this is where It gets interesting. During the day Madeline's dreams were happy and bright. But during the night she sees things that no 8 year old should ever see, horrible things bred in the darkness that would make adults pee their pants. Every night she wakes up hysterical, kicking and screaming saying that the Borgafier was going to get her. After Rob and Cassie convinced her that it was only a dream, and have gone back to bed, The Grim Reaper entered her room. "Does it have a feathered tail, cold yellow eyes and teeth that sink to the floor?" He asked. Madeline's skin goes pale. "How did you know?" She asked frightened. After events like these the Grim Reaper disappears for a couple of days. And when he comes back Madeline no longer has dreams about the monsters. What Madeline Didn't Know was that her nightmares, were the Grim Reapers memories.
