Dialgia's POV
****************
It strikes the heart when a not-so-close-friend threatens to kill you and the rest of Dékadi's students. None of us were stupid to not know, but we always knew she had a big secret. And she did.
Fury coursed rapidly through my veins. How...how could this...this-ever happen? I could've chosen to doubt in what she said. I wished this wasn't real. But I didn't care. She wasn't that valuable anyway. Rain stained my petrified face, and Damae was still levitating, laughing like all of this was just nothing. 'Ha! Pathetic! You realize you're being attacked...and you don't-'
I couldn't take it anymore. I stabbed her in the gut repeatedly. Just die already, I thought. No, this is wrong...
I stopped, and pulled my blade out of the half-dead traitor. 'Why couldn't you do it?!' Damae croaked. 'I've waited years. I'm a traitor, am I not?!' She said it like she was one of those people who've given up at life. Eye twitching, teeth clenching, my hand rapidly slapped Damae's pale cheek. She spat out a tooth and blood. A pained look stretched on her face, and she shrieked out the most stupid thing I would hear.
'WHY WON'T YOU JUST KILL ME ALREADY?!'
No. I couldn't do this. I couldn't torment her. I knew her, knew who she was, but I didn't know why she wanted to die. My eyes stung with tears. How did it all come to this? I didn't know. Why...of all people...did it have to be her?
'Why...why...?'
'Why, Dialgia?' Damae's purple orbs shrank. She gulped, and I saw hate deep in her eyes. 'It's because they took something...someone...away from me.'
'But why?! Why do you do this? Why do you choose them?! Why is it that I don't know what's happening with you, the truth about my sister, the truth about this world that everyone knows?! Why can't you just...'
'He pleaded,' Damae sternly said, with sorrow in her tone. 'He pleaded with Dagar, Agora, and Larra to spare me.'
'Who's...he?'
'He's-no. I can't say it. You're supposed to die. If you can't kill me, well...I will take this perfect chance,' Damae coldly said, scars and wounds seeping out red blood. She had a black sword on her hands. I looked at her and down at the bloodred sword I had on my hands. Forcing a smile, which grew to a grin, I stood straight up. Even though all of my friends and all the students are wiped out, I burst into a sword-fighting stance.
'If that's the game you play, I'll follow the rules.'
