Dialgia's POV
When the sun rose high again, and all the students were in their bedrooms, silently healing themselves, the Danger Zone below was filled with water that soon evaporated. I on the other hand, looked too clueless when I was surrounded by the four Gifted. 'Miss Trease, you've never known us but...' the Nadian child began. '...now that we're here, I suppose you don't mind me introducing you to my colleagues?'
I nodded, my head and my neck feeling very, very numb.
'See here, Seraph, Aurelle, and Erd, this young female will be our destiny, as I have forseen,' the child informed the other three Gifted, who were desperately in need of answers. 'But how...? Even if she's the youngest sister of the greatest, how can she ever manage?' Aurelle asked, not a single hint of belittling in her statement nor tone. 'Aurelle, dear, even if she's the first dual, even if her sister had died facing Dagar like everyone had, my sight never lies. It will be her responsibility now, best we not interfere in this child's path to greatness.'
No kidding, but this is too much. Me being the destiny of the world? I know I'm the first dual, but, why does it have to go this far? It gives me all the more reason to hate myself and probably shout at my dead sister for ruining my life because of her being 'greatest hero'.
'Um...excuse me, mind telling me why I have all these...uh...responsibilites? Because as for now, I'm trying my best to understand,' I lied. 'Dialgia, it's pretty easy to understand, but complicated to believe. For now, try not worrying about the world being smashed to bits when you take your summer break,' the child assured me. 'You know, when you have these big roles, best you can do is carry it out as best as you can. Your sister almost fainted when I told her she was going to be the greatest hero. Now you are, along with Vennet, Sarafina, and Laine.'
I was looking at her in a kind of disprespectful I-don't-believe-you face, but it totally did not anger her, or anything. It seemed like she got the reaction so often. 'Who are Vennet, Sarafina and Laine?' I asked. 'They can be your friends, or rivals. Because Vennet is an elf, she can bend those lands below to what she wants it to be and what she wants it to do, all of those. Sarafina (you may call her Sophie) broke the first law of the stars, to never, ever beckon them in the full Red moon. But she did, and well...she had paid a lifelong service to Irene. Laine is a very gifted boy, who has very extraordinary powers. Levitate, curse, possess, remain invisible, run in incredible high speeds, and lastly, bend light and maybe even darkness in his will. Erd here had made sure he can't ever use dark magic in betrayal, and well, Laine hasn't and had sworn he won't. In addition, we gave him special unremovable armbands that can't let him use it.'
I, was very sure to be impressed in the heroes' great feats. An elf with powerful land magic? A celestial warrior? A boy who can do all those extraordinary skills and can bend even darkness? These are like myths that everyone belittled and forgot. But they're real, respected, and forever remembered. I was sure to be the lowest rank in the four, because, well, it would be quite unfortunate of you to be bending two elements, but only using them as weapons, and probably cause the unstability of both. This is what I call 'lowering your self-esteem'.
I raised an eyebrow, but tried to sleep again. They left, and I heard Seraph's voice just when beyond my door, saying,
'You may see her, but...just don't do anything rash by showing off.'
A childish voice erupted after Seraph's statement.
'What?! That sucks! And we aren't that much of show-offs!'
'Well, well, go now, because we're just going to stay here overnight.'
My door burst open miraculously, and I looked at the amazed trio, who opened the door with smoke just coming in my room. 'Oh! So it's YOU!' The curly-haired and bespectacled blonde pointed dramatically at me. 'Yeah, and so what?' I responded.
'We're just here to check on you, and lucky you, you get to meet us,' the black haired boy with tattered bandages revealing his glowing yellow orbs said. Pretty sure he was Laine, because who else would this guy be? 'I wanna rest, so will you please keep it down?' I pleaded.
'It was brave of you to fight Damae,' Vennet softly acknowledged. She had no ears, with a white ball on where her left ear was supposed to be. A horn and five red petals were attached on the white ball. The ball had a black circle at the center. 'And by the way, us elves don't have ears. Instead, we read lips.' I gave a reasonable oh until I caught Sophie looking at the choker I wore, with the dual surgestone. It glowed purple, even if it was half blue and half red. 'Hey, if you're much of a big deal because of this, you gotta be a big joke,' Sophie said.
'Naw. She's a big deal because, you know, she's pretty much faced a person like...me,' Laine explaned. 'Ah, goodness gracious, Laine, please don't bring your depression here.' Vennet complained as Laine scowled like: what?
'I'm not that sad, elf. Just remember who you're talking to.' Laine smirked, looking like the villain Dagar was. But he's not. Why? Because, well, I just feel like he's not. 'Oh hush, Laine. You're probably scared that, well, that you'll probably be rejected by Amella. She's cute, by the way. You're lucky that you and her...are in the friend zone,' Vennet teased. Laine looked like he was going to say 'I'm gonna be closer to her soon, just you wait!'
'Okay, so why are you three here?' I asked, like I had nothing to do with their lives, and what they're saying. 'What now?' Sophie looked at me with her once large blue eyes that looked like a pair of shiny gray buttons gleaming in awkardness and lost interest in what was going on. 'I said; 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM, YOU IDIOTS, DO YOU KNOW THAT I NEED TO REST?! QUIT WASTING MY DAMN TIME!!'
Sophie totally lost it. Vennet dragged Laine away, ran hurriedly outside, and closed the door behind her. And outside they could hear metal against metal, incoming explosions, lots of burning, and maybe cursing. 'Ah, kids these days,' Aurelle sighed beside Seraph, who was covering his thin lips with his hands and leaning on the wall for support to keep himself from laughing. Laine almost looked like he would collapse from the things he was hearing. Vennet, well, she didn't have ears, so she remained calm. Well, until a mob of students almost crushed them, claiming that they were some kind of 'rescue team'.

Author's POV
'You haven't told me anything about this!'
Dialgia looked like she was going to fall any second. She heard from Vennet that Janna had almost gotten a fractured arm and lost a lot of blood. Sombré? Goodness knows what happened to her. She lost an eye, which is pretty common for second-years and first-years. It was a nightmare for Dialgia, but thankfully, she seemed to have knowledge that even if Janna and Sombré weren't that all right, she was sure to know that Vennet had the ability of Destiny Giver. It will be up to Vennet if she can prolong their lives or leave it be. But well, she never created Dialgia's destiny, and did not shape the rest of the world of how it is now. It's similar to my power, which lets me write this story you're reading.
The whole night was spent in another unknown location in Dékadi, which was a large and grand feast hall, which hadn't been occupied for years, even if it was well maintained.
Dialgia should've had second thoughts about attending, because after the second course was dessert and drinking something that was unawarely similar to whiskey. The halls were filled with drunken laughter, chanting and some explosions. This, is well, the end of book one, ending in the same ruckus. If you'd want to know what truly happened, Damae died, Dagar vanished, now to wreak havoc, once again. If you'd wanna know about the Treases and the rest of the students, you can visit the Profile Book. If you'd like to shift into a much recently documented timeline in Dékadi, please, support this book for the release of a second book! I might be able to spoil you a little about the future books about Dékadi with the Treases in my other book. Celestial would be out soon, so I already spoiled you about the main protagonist, Sarafina Amane! Just check my book: Some Random stories.
