Dialgia's POV
*************
The scar on my hand was very, very, deep. It bleeded out, but I didn't care. It started to turn raven black. My redblade was shattering quickly. I dropped my weapon, and it disappeared before it hit the ground. A new redblade formed on my grasp. The clouds above were gray, and the rain was like fire to my wounds. Still ready, I dodged incoming strikes and countered by using the waterlily coiled on my arm, expanding its large see-through petals in defense. Damae had jabbed me once again on the stomach, and I fell down, whimpering slightly. Some people have started to get up. Although Janna was half dead, she made a storm to drown all of us. The water was already on high tide level, so only my face and the red liquid that surrounded me could be seen. Slowly, I stood up, not minding the throbbing pain inside. I managed to get my head back on. Pieces of me cracked and slowly fell down. No way am I gonna die like this. I steadily held on my blades and took one last strike on an absent-minded Damae before I could disappear.
Ravina was in shambles. The orphanage was the only remnant of the war. Still the children stayed there while the adults that looked after them ran away and died. Maltrin Datcher sighed. He had been able to lead the children back inside. Damae was traumatized, her hands over her mouth. A snake was wrapping itself on her arm.
What are you doing here?
In response, the snake hissed these words only Damae could hear.
You will die, sooner, and your cousin will die before you. You do know, that if you were one of us, you'd survive?
Damae slowly nodded.
I'm not going with you.
And why not?
Because...I'm not gonna be the one who's gonna kill Maltrin.
The snake formed itself into a small childlike version of Dagar. He slowly whispered in Damae's ear before disappearing.
You'll regret it, and you'll be one of us when he dies anway.
'Damae! Goodness, you were just here!' Maltrin said, his tone a mix of worry and grief. 'You know, there's no one to look after us here! I was afraid you were dead!' Damae gave an all-knowing and calm smile, stood up and went back with Maltrin.
2 years later...
Maltrin died on his first year, by suffocation and being stabbed by Agora's sharp tentacle-hair. He happened to meet the undefeatable seer alone, and died leaving a permanent scar on Agora's cheek and resistimg her corrupted eye. Even Agora's bloodstains were still dry on the field where Maltrin died. Damae hardly grieved, feeling a choking and burning feeling. She didn't cry, but the snake she met two years ago appeared again, and shifted to its natural form. Dagar stood before Damae now.
Your cousin's dead now. He wanted a chance for you to live.
Damae had no relations except her cousin, who was very much praised for not backing off when encountering the powerful seer and weakening her. Of course, Damae accepted, because there was nothing more in the world that would keep her safe.
P r e s e n t:
White was all Dialgia could see. She heard loud engine sounds and felt like she was being carried somewhere. Her lungs were full of water. She coughed and vomitted all she could, and couldn't resist unbelieving she hadn't died. Dialgia didn't know what happened to Dagar now. All she knew is that he was away, and gone. Surrounding her were people she didn't know. Except they looked like they were in their twenties, and the shortest one looked like she was still a teen.
The one she first saw was a man with quite long and sleek white hair. He had eyeglasses over his intimidating green eyes. He wore a rather formal suit that made him look like a rich person. Standing next to him was a young lady with long black hair and blue eyes. She wore an elaborate silver flowing gown. And next was a blonde-haired man who looked like Alard, only that he was obviously not related to Alard. The last was someone Dialgia ought to be honored to meet.
The young-looking, all-wise-and-knowing, fair and just Nadian child.
