----

Blinding white teeth shine out from the A5 piece of paper, blue eyes glimmering as the sun rays bounce off the colourful orbs. Lips curl up into gorgeous smiles, as brown hair wafts in front of their faces.

"Who's this?" A bulky male asks, peering over the smaller ones shoulders.

"Oh, sorry Erwin." Eren apologies to the older one who sits himself besides him on Eren's single bed. "I got caught up," he says, looking across at the clothes he'd piled up to wear on their third date.

"Don't worry, we don't have to go out if you don't want to." He offered.

"No!" Eren quickly said. "I want to go, I really do. I'll get ready now."

"It's fine Eren, take you time." Erwin smiled. "Is there anything you want to talk about?" Erwin asked, looking down at the photo's Eren held.

"It's just... it's my mum's birthday tomorrow," he whispered, smiling sadly.

Both looking down at the image in his hands, Eren runs his thumb over his mothers face. Long brown hair drapes over shoulders as the light wind brushes her fringe across her face. She wore a knee length dress that hugs her body, as her arms cradle a baby in her arms. You cant really see the baby, but everyone knew it was Eren as a new born.

Eren loved the photo, the photo was the last once taken before Carla, his mum, was taken from him.

"She's beautiful," Erwin hugged the tearful male.

"She really is..."

----

"I can see were he gets his looks from," Levi said, flicking through several photo's.

"Yeah... sad really." Marco frowned. "She passed away within a week of giving birth to Eren, I never found out the reason why but it had something to do with the birth of Eren. I remember Eren blaming himself for the death, they were hard times."

"I get how he feels," licking his dry lips, Levi shook his head and turned to Marco. "What else is in the box?"

Both males were sat on a pale blue covers of a single bed, while Marco held the rusty silver box delicately. Seven photos of Mikasa, Carla, Grisha and Eren were inside the box, along with two winged necklaces, one wing on each silver chain.

"Eren told me about these necklaces before," Marco said while Levi carefully picked them up. "One was Grisha's and the other ways Carlas, soul mates. But when she died, Grisha said that part of his heart was missing and took the necklace off. He said he wanted Eren to have Carla's part while his future partner takes the other half."

"Why?"

"Luck really. So he has a part of his mother with him at all times and that true love is real."

"Then how comes Eren and Erwin doesn't have this?" Levi questioned, putting it away.

"They do, but Erwin had brought Eren the same sort for their anniversary years ago so Eren could keep these ones safe and nothing would happen to them. But Eren never saw them again, he thought he'd lost them, must've forgotten he put it in here."

Levi fell silent, his eyes engrossed on the photo's before him. He felt he knew Eren even more and he couldn't tell if that was a good thing or bad. They'd been through the same, and that terrified him. No one deserved to go threw what Levi did, to lose parents, and Eren did.

If it wasn't for the fact that not only had Eren lost his mother, but he was soon to lose himself to Erwin too, Levi would've stayed quiet longer.

"Wait Levi," Marco gasped, "turn the photo around, quickly."

"Huh?" Blinking several times and slowly turning the photo around, Levi's eyes widened. "Writing. There's writing on it."

"There's writing on every one," Marco said when he took them from, the reluctant to let them go, Levi. "It's not Eren's though," he growled.

"I wouldn't be that sure yet," Levi retorted, picking up one photo. "Who's writing is this?"

The picture had Eren and Mikasa in and unlike the rest which had numbers for what year it was took, this one had writing on. It said; this image was taken seven years on mum's birthday. I miss her so much... we love you mum.

"This is.. this is Eren's right?" Levi smirked. "The brat got lucky, without this who know's what we'd do."

"And it's nothing like the writing on the note," Marco breathed. "We need to go to Ymir," he said.

"Yeah, let's go." Quickly getting up and placing everything back into the box neatly, Levi flicked open the phone. "Marco, call up Jean. I'll get Grisha, we'll take both cars. You can go with Jean and find Ymir and Krista to see how they're doing, me and Grisha will go look around."

"Yes, right away." Grabbing the box, Marco took large steps out of the room and made his way to the front door, tapping in Jean's phone number.

-

Marco was gone by the time Grisha honked his horn alarming Levi that he'd arrived. He impatiently waited, white knuckles on show from the fear of losing his son.

"Where's the box?" He asked Levi, starting the car.

Buckling in, Levi answered; "Jean's picked it up, they're on their way to the police station to hand over the box and photo's now."

"Are we going there? What's happening?"

"We've already got four of them down there, adding two more will just piss the police on," he grumbled. "While they don't what they need to, I thought it's best for us to go. You know this place better then most, you've lived here for quiet some time."

"And how's that going to help anything?"

"If you were planning to kill someone, where'd you hide the body?"

"Are you saying I should expect to find my son dead?" He glared at Levi.

"No, but I do say to expect the worst. Now, if you were going to kill someone, where'd you put, leave, the body?"

"Well, somewhere nobody would think to look." Nodding Levi told him to go on more. "There's not many places Ackerman, the towns small."

"That's right, so out of everywhere in the whole town, cut down the places he could be."

Thinking, his finger tapping on the steering wheel, Grisha bit his lip.

"There's a working factory, but people work there. There's... well, they could've b-buried him," he choked out. "Or... garages? I dunno, you can rent them out."

"Okay, lets start with the factory."

"You better know what you're doing Ackerman, obviously my sons life on your hands... and yours might end up on mine."

Closing his eyes and resting his head back on the chair, Levi's hands curl into fists. "Don't worry Grisha," he sighed, "if anything happens to Eren I wouldn't want to be here anyways."
