*Ysa's pov...*

I said goodbye to Buddy for the night and decided to check in at a hotel. I walked down the dark street, when a soft echo of footsteps caught my attention. I turned around, but no one was there. Who knows! Crazy things happen at night!

I kept walking on as the cool night breeze brushing against my face. Suddenly, a bag was put over my head and I could barely breathe!

*Time Skip-.......GET MOVING!*

The bag was ripped off my head and I was in a dark underground room lit by only faint torchlight. I tried to move, but realized that I could not. My body was strapped down to a table of some sort.

"Help!" I cried, knowing that it was pointless to do it anyway.

"You know it is pointless to cry for help. No one will answer your request." A man said as he came closer. His poise and face made it easy for me to recognize him.

"You." I muttered in a barely audible tone.

"Don't be afraid." he said, "What is said here stays here. I only need you to answer a few questions for me."

"Depends on the question." I said.

"What were you doing out on the street?" he asked.

"I was simply going to the hotel. I arrived earlier today and I forgot to check out a room." I said.

"Better yet, what were you doing by that rebel group?" He asked.

"Are you sure that they are rebels?" I asked.

"They're dangerous! They are a band full of traitors committing treason! What were you doing over there!?" He shouted. He grabbed a glaive and pointed it at my chest, since my neck had some sort of restraint.

"Why must you know? How can I trust you when you've hanged a man today?" I said.

He growled and moved the blade closer until it just barely touched my chest.

"Alright, Alright! I was just getting an interview. I study the living conditions of planets and I figured I would like both sides of the story." I said.

"I figured you were a foreigner. Any one in their right mind wouldn't go out on the street in the middle of the night for fear they may be captured in a way you were." he said.

"My apologies, I did not know that it was wrong. I didn't even know what time it was." I said.

"No apologies needed. It was my fault. The men at the entrance to the city should be better at warning travelers such as yourself." he said, setting me free from the board I was strapped to.

"Thank you for letting me know of the rules. I shall try to follow them better this time." I said as I walked towards the door.

He put the glaive in my path to stop me.

"Ah, ah, ah! Not so fast! We need someway to remind you to follow the rules. It's our way of doing things here. We teach them a lesson they won't forget so that they don't do it again." he explained, "Alas, some die from these lessons, but the rules broken were very important."

"Oh. What exactly did you have in mind?" I asked, my hand went immediately for my neck.

He could sense my reason for this action. "Now, now, calm down! You're lucky you won't get the rope. That's only for high treason."

He thought for a minute.

"Have you ever gotten a tattoo?"
