*Ysa's pov...*

That young lad seemed to know everything! Maybe he can help me figure out what's going on. I'd have to get him first.

The carriage with him in it was pulling away, so I ran towards it as fast as I could and hopped onto the back of it. The young lad looked up from the ground and saw me hanging onto the back.

"What are you doing here, Miss?" he asked.

"I'm rescuing you......umm" I said, trying to figure out what to call him.

"Call me Buddy." he replied, "And you are?"

"Ysa." I replied.

"Well, Ysa, you better be quick! The closer we get to the palace, the more likely we will be shot dead trying to escape!" Buddy said.

I used one of my pens to try and pick the lock on the door. After about 30 seconds of twisting, the lock fell to the ground and was left in the dust. The door swung open and I quickly jumped inside.

"What do we do, Buddy?" I asked, starting to panic.

"We're approaching the palace! It's now or never!" Buddy said.

He took my hand and the two of us jumped out from the carriage. We landed on the rocky road, watching the carriage drive away without us.

*the superior officer's pov...*

I stopped the carriage at the palace gate and hopped off to get the prisoner. The door was wide open and there was no one inside.

I gulped. "I'm going to have to report this, aren't I?" I said to myself.

"Yes you are, sir." a nearby officer replied. This earned him a good, resounding slap to the face from me.

"I wasn't asking you, you idiot!" I said.

"Of course sir, my apologies." the officer stuttered.

"Don't squabble with apologies! Just watch your tongue! It would be a shame to have it slit." I replied.

The officer said nothing. He just nodded slowly.

I headed inside to face my superior.
