12:09 AM
Looking at your watch,
"yikes, it's late."
"So? That's alright, stay longer, please."
I looked at you and said convincingly.
You looked up at the stars for a minute, and i stared at the sparkle in your eyes as you did so.
"Alright,"
You looked at me and smiled.
I inwardly cheered to myself and sat back into your arms. Tonight the moon shined bright and the stars made appearance everywhere. It was the type of night I'd never want to end.
"Do cars ever pass through here?"
You chuckled as you asked.
"Well, yeah, sometimes. I like the night, it's quiet and not many people drive by."
I got the hint that you were probably nervous due to the fact that we were sitting in the middle of the street. I looked up and kissed you on the cheek, this made you smile as you placed one back on mine. The night time is peaceful, the world is asleep, if you're quiet enough you can hear. Staring at the night sky and the stars, it gives you a sense of tranquility and i believe that in that moment, you can sit back and forget your worries. Nothing, nor anyone, to bother you. You can escape, just for a while, and sometimes, we really need that.
"I love you, darling"
you grabbed my hand and covered it with both of yours.
"I love you too"
I replied, squeezing your arm.
The air was warm, although it was so late. That didn't matter though, i didn't want to think about time. Quite honestly, when i was with you, I never thought time existed.
We sat there, together, you and i, pointing out stars and sharing laughs. Just you and I.
We weren't scared, we weren't worried, we had each other, and we were so close that we felt okay. Together was like our safe haven. You made me feel like no other, and man was i lucky, i knew that. The wind blew, causing the trees to sway, back and forth.
1:24 AM
I looked up, taking a glance at the moon once more. You had to go, i know you had to, but i didn't want you to leave, when did i ever? You began to walk away as i grabbed your hand and looked into your eyes.
"Look, you see that?"
My eyes shifted up towards the sky and you followed them, looking there too.
"When you miss me, when we are not together, just look up at the sky, at the moon, and know that you won't have to feel alone, because I'll be looking there too."
I slowly spoke and to finish, I looked right back and you. You smiled and kissed me, pulling me into a big hug. In that moment, everything was okay.
