Yes indeed. The not-actual-cat had, in an attempt to get AWAY from the supervillain, ended up right next to one.
Following close behind her was Milyah, the black hoodie worn by the brunette bounced back when she came to a sudden halt after taking notice of the situation. "This is why people shouldn't follow the other person in horror movies..."
Whirling around and raising her hands like she'd been caught, Cheshire instinctively shouted, "Not my fault!"
Feeling the heat from the orange suit-wearing person behind her, the girl with the cat namesake turned to face her, uttering an awkward "Hey ya...."
It was of no avail, as the villain remained completely silent, a dark arua surrounding her like a suffocating blanket.
The black-haired girl looked over her shoulder to ask for some assistance from Milyah. All she got was a shrug and was then ushered to say something to break the quiet.
Cheshire said the only real question that came to mind. "And who might you be, Mr. Villian?"
Putting in her voice, Milyah asked, "Yeah... Who are you?"
The akuma huffed, offended by something. She came into the light and out from underneath the pavilion she had camped out at on this ridiculously sunny day. "I am clearly a girl. And I'm no villain. My name is Volpina."
"But, Volpina is a villian...." Cheshire said, her knowledge of Paris's heroes and adversaries coming into play.
Milyah decided to ignore it, internally pleading that the flute-carrying woman hadn't heard a thing. "Oooohhhh...Hi! I'm Milyah....."
Volpina let out a fake smile. "I like you, Milyah. Your friend over there...." Her face scrunched up as if she were staring at a disgusting wild animal she didn't want to even be near.
Cheshire growled inside her own mind. "Narrator, you don't have to rub it in."
Oh! Sorry! Guess I got a little carried away. Can we continue?
"Got it!!"
Cheshire's temper flared. "Hey." She stuck out her tongue like a child. "Rude."
Again, Milyah tried to pretend Cheshire hadn't spoken. "Heheh... Thanks..."
Volpina plastered on a pleasant face, then stated with fake enthusiasm, "Well, I'm off to save the city!"
"Pfft." Cheshire, being Cheshire, stated the blatantly obvious truth. "No you're not."
"....." Milyah whispered to her troublemaking friend, "Please try not to get us attacked..."
Cheshire huffed, her voice devoid of even the slightest hint of true emotions. "FINE. Volpina, you are the almighty superhero. Wooo."
"......" The green-eyed girl stared blankly. "We are gonna be killed."
Luckily, some things just didn't seem to click inside of Volpina's brain. "Why thank you! I'm so glad you've come to your senses." I suppose the akuma of lies and deception wasn't so good at spotting other's 'amazing' fibs.
And when the fox akuma looked away, Cheshire pretended to gag to Milyah.
The brunette decided that ultimately just going with it tended to be better, as problems like these were always going to arise. ".... I guess it worked."
Cheshire smirked, her blue eyes shining and a smirk identical to her namesake appeared on her face. "Aw, you ever doubted my abilities?"
"Okay, a little." Was whispered in response.
Before the cat had a chance to fake hurt, a blur ran behind them extremely quickly.
Excitement was clearly present in Cheshire's voice as she spoke. "Hope you brought the popcorn, because the show's about to start."
Author's Note! So, it's kinda short now, but I promise you, the next chapter is gonna be a LOT longer. XD Until next time! LOVE YA!!
