"Just in case, everyone leave and go home! And don't forget to read chapters 4 and 5!" The teacher called out, her words falling upon deaf ears. She was quite used to this almost-daily routine, so her unwavering voice was in agreement with her position on the topic: she knew Ladybug and Chat Noir would keep the school and all her students safe. She had absolutely nothing to worry about.
"Boi nah." Whispered Milyah to her best friend, Cheshire. There was no way the brunette was going to read other than entertainment purposes, which the textbook most certainly did not provide.
The entire class walked (more like ran) out of the room, a mix of excitement and fear shone across their faces. Some of the class went home, Chloe and Sabrina went shopping, while a select few decided to heed news advice and seek cover. From what, however, varied from these personnel.
Take Marinette for instance. She was looking for a place that wouldn't be seen by the prying eye so that the bluenette could transform into her superhero self. She settled on going behind a bench. "What a perfect hiding spot!"
And then there were the classmates (actually, just the one) who decided they were going to have adventure. And her best friend, who -unfortunately- always ended up being dragged into the equation. "If this world is 2D, that might work. Possibly. But don't be stupid." Cheshire told Milyah, knowing full well that with both of their exceptional hearing abilities, even though Marinette was on the complete opposite side of the park, the topic of their conversation was understood. The way the jet black haired girl tended to talk, however, was not as easy to follow.
"What do you mean Cheshire?" Asked Milyah, the confusion not uncommon in the talks the best friends had.
Cheshire took a second to elaborate. "If the world is flat, nobody would be able to go behind her. So, she probably wouldn't be seen. As easily, anyway. It's still a bench."
"Huh. Makes sense."
Yes, the elusive bench. The nearly Wonderlandian girl had a long history with the creatures, none of which had a happily ever after. Or tea for that matter.
Shaking herself out of these peculiar thoughts, the not-actual-cat asked, "What about you?"
"What do I mean by what I said?" As I stated earlier, confusion was quite a regular occurrence.
"No, what other Miraculous thoughts do you have?" Said Cheshire, emphasizing Miraculous as if it were some inside joke she was sharing with an audience. (CHESHIRE, STOP IT!!!)
"Nothing much. Just that we should run cause our school is being attacked. Remember?" Milyah reminded, her green eyes almost seeming to ask how in the world her friend had forgotten. They may have been off school property, but the brunette knew that for some odd reason, Cheshire acted like a magnet for trouble.
"Good idea. RUN!!!" Cheshire yelled, throwing her hands up and sprinting, paying absolutely not attention to where she was heading. Her first problem. Her second would be accidentally running in front of the villain and its line of sight. Or rather, stopping mere inches away from the akuma's face, Cheshire's mint green highlights hitting the wrongdoer in the face. "Well crap."
