~ The River ~

The river bubbled,
It's crystal water splashing onto surfaced rocks
From within the brook.
It was as clear as day, the water,
And the stream was just warm enough
For children to swim in.
The rocks were smooth and polished
And moss sponged along their fronts.
It was soft to the touch,
And yet squishy all the same.
The water was slow moving,
So much so,
That you could sit and drift
For hours.
That river is so beloved by so many children,
And adults alike.
And so it should be.
