KENZIE

"So we need to add these but remember to use a strainer for the flour. We don't want any lumps when we mix the liquids"

"Okay madam" Harold got some bowls and the strainer to do what I asked him to do. Today we were at my house because my parents had to go somewhere with their college friends that were in town this weekend.

Me and Harold had an assignment for our Home Ec class in which it involves a three course meal. Right now, we're almost finishing it with the dessert. It has been like almost a week that we haven't spent some time together like normally we'd be together during class hours but with stuff like this, we don't.

"How much flour do you want me to put in?" he asked.

"About one and a half cup or so" I replied.

"Did you even preheat the oven before we started?" I asked out of curiosity since the first step in baking is it preheat the ovens so that they're ready once we put in the product.

"Yes I did madam" he cheekily smiled at me. I smiled back since his face was almost covered with flour but just only a portion of his face.

"Let me check" I said as I walked over to the oven beside him and saw that he did preheat it before we started mixing the ingredients.

"See I told you. It's like you don't believe me" he joked. I looked at him in a serious way but still try to joke with him.

"I was making sure that you did the right thing" I said. We both had experiences with baking, but in separate lives of course. I do not question his ability with this kind of hobby but I just clearly want to make a good impression on our teacher as much as getting good grades as well for this semester.

"Like the day you mistaken the bowl with another bowl with holes at the bottom" he smirked as he brought back the incident wherein I mistakenly grabbed a different utensil when we had our field trip a few weeks ago.

My smile quickly turned into a frown once he mentioned that event. I looked up at his face and he was smirking but as for me, I was still feeling guilty about that incident. But still, did he even have to mention that again?

I soon felt a bit pissed off when he said that so now I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut and just continue on with the assignment we were assigned to do.

"Oh come on Kenz, I wasn't trying to make you feel bad about what happened that day" he explained. Instead of giving him a response, I still stayed silent. "Are you mad at me?"

Again, I stayed silent. Letting him think about what he said to me.

I was still continuing the mixture as I felt him moving his face near mine. "Heyy, I didn't mean to be hurt you or what"

"See that's the problem, people like you don't notice that the other person is feeling bad about something or being guilty because you mentioned it again" I said.

"Come on, don't be mad at me. It was just an accident. Everybody makes mistakes" he told me and I still remained silent as ever. He scooted closer to me and continued. "...and besides, it was the most memorable day of my life because that was the day that the girl I like liked me back" I looked at him and he smiled. I tried to smile but moved my face away from him and focused on the mixture in front of me and putting it in the oven; not letting him see that he accomplished in making me smile again.

I hope he didn't see it though.

"Wait what was that?"

"What was what?"

"Was that a smile I saw?" I felt him smirking.

"What? I wasn't smiling. Pshh" I lied.

"Oh really?" I then felt him putting something in my nose as he laughed and ran away from me, making his way across me from the table. I touched my nose and saw it was a powdered substance. I then recognized it and it was flour.
