KENZIE

"What is all this?" I noticed he decorated the bed with a few rose petals and a bouquet of flowers as well as a bucket with a bottle of champagne on the side.

"The balloons says it all" he said trying to come close to me.

"No! No way! I know what you're trying to do, so I'm leaving" I ignored him but he got my arm and pulled me back before I was going straight to the door.

"What? What do you think I'm going to do?" he said.

"You want to ask forgiveness from me and that's not going to work" I pushed him aside as I made my way over to the door, but he pulled me back again.

"Of course that's what I'm going to do. I'm not gonna stop until you're not mad at me" he replied back.

"Why do you think I'm mad at you? Oh, wait a minute! Maybe it's because you lied to me? Or maybe it's because you played me like any other you girl you've met" I had no energy talking to him. When I see him, I still think about what he did to me.

"I don't blame you for getting mad at me. That's all my fault, but I'm doing all of this just so you could forgive me" he motioned to everything he did for me which was this house as well as the decorations he had set in here.

"I will never forgive you for what you did. Didn't you see how painful I was when I found out I was part of a stupid bet?" I became furious and I know it isn't the alcohol talking anymore.

"That's why I wanted to make it up to you. I felt really guilty about it. You're very special to me and I don't wanna waste every moment with you" he tried to apologize this time.

"You should feel guilty about it. I can't believe you would do that to me. And for what? Just to prove to your brothers that you're better than them? Just to see who really is the better man between the three of you?" I just did not understand why he would do that.

"At first yes, but when I started to get to know you more, I even forgot about the bet" he said. I turned to him with a surprised look.

"W-What do you mean by that?" I got curious.

"Look, you were like the first girl who showed how confident and mature she is and I thought that they are vulnerable when it comes to me, but I was wrong" he walked closer to me. His face inches away from mine although, I backed out and moved away from him.

"If you feel that way about me, why then agree to that decision if you know that something we have is special" I just didn't understand why.

"Ever since our dad left, I became the complete opposite of what he wanted me to be before leaving our family" he started off as he sat down on the bed as I stood in front of him. He continued. "We were always a happy family, but we sensed that he and my mom's relationship were on the rocks, he knew the only solution was to divorce himself from her"

I soon got a chair and sat in front of him. "When he left, I thought maybe things would be the same, but it wasn't. It turns out he wasn't happy. He had his own family and became satisfied of being with another woman."

"I still don't understand where this is going?" tried to be a buzz kill for a second. Wrong move though.

"He dated a lot of women after their divorce and I know that it's difficult for him to find the right women to settle down with. I tried to prove to anyone that I was different from my dad. I wasn't a player nor a cheater, but one day, I met someone before you. She was like the perfect girl for me, but found out she only used me to get back at her ex. Because of that, I knew I wouldn't be able to settle down with anyone. That's why I planned the bet, just to prove that I'm better than anyone else and I will never fall for any girl I meet" he explained.

"You did that just to prove to everyone how tough and brave you are?" I asked.

"That's what I thought, but when I met you, everything changed. You were almost perfect, but I doubted that you would ever fall into a relationship with me" he held my hands from across him. "You're very special Mackenzie and I don't want to waste someone like you, but I really do want to take this opportunity to know if you feel the same way before I can finalize my feelings about you"

I looked at him for a moment and gulped with nervousness. I let go of his hands and stood up. "This is crazy. You're crazy. I cannot believe you went all through that just to prove something to everybody" I see him looking disappointed as he his face were facing the ground.

"Just reject me now and let's get it over with" he said. I  did not speak and the room went silent. All I had do to was to walk up to him, grabbed his face and kissed him on the lips. He got surprised and  kissed back while his hands were wrapped around my waist. The kiss was sweet and a bit long, but we paused for a bit.

"So you forgive me?" he said.

"I also don't want to waste a guy like you who puts a lot of effort into what he's doing..." I gave him another peck on the lips and continued. "...and you're the first guy who ever showed his love and care for me and continues to pursue me no matter what." he smiled and we soon continued kissing  until our clothes were on the floor and not on us.
