Why is the Ravenclaw symbol an eagle? Most people are like ‘because eagle are smart’. So? Ravens are also very smart and it is in the houses name!
In fact, the bird family of Corvidaes (that ravens belong to) are actually smarter than Raptors (the bird family eagles belong to). So I repeat: WHY IS THE RAVENCLAW SYMBOL AN EAGLE?!?!
And another thing, the eagle is a magnificent animal, but for all its regal appearance, it is an opportunistic scavenger and a thief, preferring to drive other hunters away from their kill (or just make a meal of something dead and washed up on the beach) rather than hunting on their own.
So that is why I think the Ravenclaw symbol should be a raven and not an eagle!
