I let my anger, confusion, and sadness guide my feet to the forest. How could I be half-vampire my whole life and not even know? How did the pack tolerate to be around me? Why is my own father coming after me if I'm like him? Why does my life have to be like this? Why am I brought into this fantasy world that doesn't feel real, that shouldn't be real?
Why?
I ran so fast that the grass beneath me blurred. I dodged trees and rocks as I dashed through the unknown world I have been sucked into. My life had never seemed more like a dream, like an alternate universe. This couldn't be reality, I had to be dreaming.
I was taken out of my thoughts when I noticed I'm at the edge of the cliff the pack dives off of. I glanced down as the white caps crashed into the solid rock. The once beautiful sky had turned cloudy, ready for a storm. I looked back behind me to see if anyone had followed.
"Come back," Jacob's voice pleaded in my mind. I closed my eyes and shook my head. My toes were centimeters away from letting me drop. "Please."
"Jump. All of this confusion will stop." My mind whispered to me mischievously. "Let the unknown answers to your questions disappear, just jump."
I watched the rapid blue water crash into the cliff. My heart beat faster by the second.
"Don't do it." My mind teased me. "It'll be okay. Jump." It retaliated.
I brought my foot away from the edge.
"Now is your only chance..."
I lost control of myself and turned around, picking up speed as I darted toward the emptiness after the tip of the cliff stopped. I lept into the air and shut my eyes.
Realization kicked in as I panicked. I gave up my struggle as I knew there wasn't a way out of this. My fate had been chosen, my destiny finally met me.
"This was supposed to happen. You're free now." The voice whispered evilly.
Everything around me went by fast, but I was trapped in the frame of slowness. I felt myself losing sense in my fingers and toes, then my forearms and shins. After that, my thighs and biceps. Lastly, my torso. My eyelids were the last things I could feel, but they slowly became heavy. The world muted as my almost lifeless body sunk into the deep ocean. Waves rocked against me.
My steady heartbeat filled my ears. The rhythm started to lose its pace as I sunk further into the water. My breath gave up on being held, letting the water ignite my nose as the burning filled them. I tried to fight myself from drifting away. I tried to gain feeling in my limbs. I tried, but I struggled. My voice couldn't bring itself to scream as I would cry for help. As if it would do me any good. I reluctantly gave up the fight as I let myself drown. I let my heavy eyelids close, letting me leave the world most would call a fantasy.
The darkness consumed me as I fell into the void. My dream must be over. I had to be waking up right now. I'll wake up and have Jacob lying next to me for comfort. Jacob would tell me I was just dreaming and I'll be okay.
"You won't wake up." The voice said.

"Lillian." Someone said. "Lilly, wake up." The voice said again.
I felt pressure on my chest. After a moment, my eyes flutter open. Jacob's face hovered over mine.
"What the hell were you thinking?" I heard him ask before my eyes closed. Once again, it was dark and I couldn't feel my limbs.
I heard the voice whisper one last thing,"It's over."
