Chapter 4-

Kellin's POV:

It was the end of the day and Jenna and Jack had started a fire to keep us warm. We all sat around the fire taking in the warmth. I sat next to Vic but we didn't talk. Instead, I talked to Jenna.

"So, you're twenty-one?" I asked.

"Yeah." she said.

"So, you were eleven when this started?" I asked.

"Yep. And Jack was fourteen. We had traveled with our families but after a while we were the only two who had survived. So we just went on by ourselves." she said.

"Oh wow." I said.

"Where were you when you first saw a zombie?" she asked. I sighed and thought back to the painful memory of watching my best friend be eaten by a zombie.

"Well, I was walking out of my high school and a herd of them ran towards us and flooded the school. What about you?" I asked.

"I was in sixth grade and I was at my friends house. We were on her trampoline when her neighbor ran into the backyard, and she was a zombie." she said.

"I was in my house playing guitar and I looked out the window and saw it." Jack said.

"I was at a party with my friends and everyone freaked out because this girl was infected." Vic said.

"I would've gone away with my dad, but my mom had turned into a zombie and she bit my dad. So he gave me this.." I said motioning to the dog tag necklace, "And I left. I drove to my uncles house who hadn't been infected, thank god for that, and I lived with him for a few days. But then he got bit so I was on the road again. And ever since then I've been traveling, but for the first few years it was hard to get out of Michigan because I never knew how." I said. Vic laughed.

"How did you not know? Just find a compass or the signs on the highway." he said.

"I never traveled much, so I don't know." I said.

"Neither have I but I still knew my way around." he said.

"Well, shut up. I just didn't know." I said. He chuckled and turned to Jenna. Just then, we heard rustling in the bushes. There was a lot of noise coming from the forest on the side of the highway so we all got up and took out our guns.

"I'm scared." Jenna whispered to Jack.

"It's okay." he said back.

"Wait, your scared?! Haven't you been alive the last ten fucking years?" Vic questioned.

"Well the fear of a flesh eating, dead human isn't exactly heart warming." she snapped back. He turned back around and a herd of zombies came out. There were a lot of them. I began to shoot and I heard the sound of gun shots coming from Jenna, Jack, and Vic.

"There's more!" Jack shouted as more came limping towards us. I aimed for their heads as I saw multiple ones collapsing to the ground.

"There's too many. Get on the bikes!" Vic shouted. We got on to ours and we drove off. For about ten minutes we drove on down the dark highway. Jenna and Jack followed behind us. As we were driving along, there were too many cars blocking the highway. We stopped and we got off the motorcycles.

"What the fuck do we do now?" I asked.

"Maybe we could drive down another highway." Jenna suggested.

"What? No. That's fucking retarded." Vic said.

"What the hell is your problem?" I asked him.

"What?" he asked.
