Chapter 8-
Kellin's POV:
The trailer started to shake even more as the zombies shook it. They were all pounding to get inside. I looked up and saw the sunroof. Vic looked at it to make sure nothing was up there.
"Stand back." he said. He took a metal bar off one of the beds and he slammed it into the glass. He stepped back before the glass rained down. The trailer was very tall so I didn't think there would be many zombies up there. Vic grabbed the outside rims of the top of the trailer and he pulled himself up. He disappeared for a second before I saw his hand reach down. I grabbed on to it and he pulled me up through the hole and we were both standing on top of the trailer. I looked down and saw the bloody, dirty, undead creatures trying to reach for us. Some of them had no eyes and blood dripping from the sockets, some had one arm, and some had their bodies ripped open. I looked around at all these peop....zombies, and I realized something.
These creatures were once people. I knew this the whole time but I never actually thought deeply about this until now. These creatures once had jobs, they got up every morning, they showered, they ate normal food, they lived. And just like that, everything was taken away from them. Gone. They were dead. These people had normal lives and this fucking virus just screwed it all up. I wish I could look at them and see even 1% of human left, but I couldn't do it. I looked at these things growling at me and reaching to grab me and eat me, it made me upset.
"What do we do?" I asked.
"We jump." he said. I looked at him and he looked at me seriously.
"What?" I asked.
"We can jump far enough to make it over the crowd of zombies, and then we run." he said.
"Are you fucking crazy? We won't make it." I said.
"You never know a mistake until you make it." he said. He grabbed my hand and he kissed me.
"Okay, I'll try." I said.
"Okay..... Jump now!" he yelled. We both ran and leaped over the crowd of zombies. We both landed on the ground and tumbled over. We had managed to make it over the zombies but Vic was holding his arm and screaming.
"What happened?!" I yelled. He turned towards me and exposed his arm. His pocket knife came out of his pocket and impelled his arm. I pulled it out and he screamed. I took of my shirt. I had a jacket on but I took off the shirt under it. I wrapped it around his arm to stop the bleeding. But then I realized that the heard was already scrambling towards us, so I got up, pulled Vic to his feet and we ran. We ran into the woods, just in case there were any zombies on the road.
"I'm losing blood." he said.
"It's okay, just a little further and then we can rest. We are close." I said.
"Close to where?" he asked.
"I don't know, but we'll get there. Stay strong for me baby." I said, using baby as an encouraging word.
"O...okay." he said. We ran along and I could hear the deadly moans of the zombies behind us. We ran through the woods, passing trees, and jumping over swamp patches and tree branches. Vic was grabbing his arm as blood came out of the wound. As we were running, we slowed down from the exhaustion and we rested for a while. We sat against a tree, panting from the run.
"How are you doing?" I asked, still panting.
"Not good. I feel really dizzy." he said.
"Do you have any medical stuff in your bag? Because I don't." I said. He nodded and his panting slowed down. I grabbed his bag and opened it.
