Birthday Countdown: 3 daysAll night Adrianna couldn't help but think about her new friend Madison. Before Diana's alarm could go off, she was already up styling her hair. Her first day wasn't as bad as she thought. Now that she knows what her school is like, she wasn't as nervous. Most of the kids seemed to get along with her quite nicely. Of course there was a few immature kids, but Adrianna has dealt with kids like that in her past life. Each and every day the memories she has of her old life disappear. She had completely forgotten about her dog and the town she used to live in. Adrianna would never admit it but she's becoming more comfortable with her new life.
"Knock, knock." Her moms says as she opens the bathroom door.
"Look at you. You never curled your hair before, I like it!" She says mesmerized.
"Thank you! I needed to change up my look, be who I really am, you know?" Adrianna looked into her eyes.
"I guess... Me and your father had a long discussion and we are allowing you to change your first name but that's it!"
"Really?! Thank you, thank you, thank you." Adrianna screams with excitement.
"Wait... I only really wanted to change my first name, but what is my middle name?" She asks her mother in a worried tone. Her middle name could be either extremely common or extremely exotic.
"It's Hope." Her mom said with a subtle smile.
'Wow, Hope is my middle name. I actually really like it. Adrianna Hope Green. It kind of has a ring to it... I think. I don't think I've ever been so happy about my name since everything happened. I think things may be changing for the better.' Adrianna thought.
"It's beautiful, and thank you again for allowing me to change my name." They both smiled and went on with what they were doing.
Thirty minutes later, Adrianna was in school again. She had most classes with Madison which gave her an opportunity to get to know her better. They were sitting together in third period, Madison talked about all of the memories they shared together before the accident. It made Adrianna happy that Madison didn't ask much about her sudden name change and loss of identity. That showed her that Madison was a true friend who stuck by her no matter what.
"Hey look it's that Adrianna girl, or is it Denise? Who knows, she switches personalities often nowadays." A group of kids begin to laugh at a classmates rude comment about Adrianna.
"Ignore him, that's Rusty Albert. He's always been a jerk. Obviously there's something wrong in his life so he has to try to make others feel bad but don't let it get to you." Madison tells Adrianna, hoping she doesn't listen to what Rusty says.
"Let's hope at her party on Saturday she doesn't switch up on us. Who knows how she'll act." Rusty makes another terrible comment.
"Party? What party on Saturday.?" Adrianna asks Madison.
"Your birthday party. Your mom sent out invitations a week before your accident. She always sends out invitations early. A lot of your friends from our grade are invited, it should be fun." She assures Adrianna.
"Friends? I barely even know myself right now. You're right though, it should be fun. But Rusty is not my friend and I don't care if my mother invited him, it's my party and I should have the final say in who comes. Anyone who treats me like garbage will ever step foot in my house." Adrianna speaks with anger in her voice.
"What are you going to do?" Madison asks.
"Hey Rusty, I hope you're having fun trying to bring me down but I won't let it bother me. Especially not at my party and now that you are not allowed to come I'll have an even better time. Have a nice day." Adrianna smirks at Rusty and turns back to Madison. The smile on Rusty's face quickly faded when Adrianna told him he wasn't going to her party.
"That was amazing. You shut him down in a matter of seconds. Did you see the look on his face? I'm so proud of you!" Madison's words warmed Adrianna's heart. For the rest of the day Adrianna didn't have any trouble with anyone.

When she got home Adrianna gathered everyone in the living room. Since they were her family now she needed to know everything about them. As soon as everyone was seated she began asking questions. All of her questions were answered without a problem."So, you all know my birthday is in three days and I found out earlier I'm having a party. Tell me everything about this party." Adrianna asked hesitantly.
"Well, it's on Saturday. We'll have it in the backyard like we do with every party." Her dad told her.
"What's the theme?" Adrianna asked, slightly nervous.
"Months ago we agreed on a rainbow theme. You wanted lots of colors and we got you the perfect three tier cake. Now that you ask about the theme I have a feeling you're about to change your mind." Her mom looked at her knowing exactly what she was about to say. Adrianna had a look of horror on her face. She absolutely didn't want a rainbow themed birthday party.
"It won't be that bad sis." Alexandra tries to calm her nerves.
"Yeah, rainbows are beautiful." Diana chimes in.
"I know they are but that's not my style. How about this, a picture perfect theme. We can have a bunch of Polaroid photos hanging up, twinkle lights hanging above us, we can have a photographer taking pictures all night and the guest will get there own pictures to take home. The cake can be a solid color, maybe maroon I like that color a lot. And on the cake maybe we can get a bunch of old pictures of us on it (Even though she has never seen pictures of her and her new family, she loved the idea of having them on the cake). It'll go great with the picture perfect theme. Everyone can dress the way they want formal or casual. It'll be a night of celebrating life and creating memories. I know it's really last minute but can we make the changes?" She hoped they would say yes right away. After Adrianna was done talking, the room was silent for a good three minutes. They were all amazed because she went from wanting a party filled with rainbows and sparkles to a more mature and meaningful party.
"Wow, my baby sis is really growing up. That sounds like a party I would want." Alexandra speaks pretending to cry.
"Of course we can make the changes. I already got the photographer and I'll just call the cake company and ask them to make a new cake. I'll take you shopping tomorrow so we can get twinkle lights and you can pick out a new outfit. It'll be perfect." Her mom almost had tears in her eyes. Soon after she got up to call the cake company. Adrianna could already picture the party in her mind. The thought of it made her so happy. After loosing her first life, it made her realize even more, how precious life is. Pictures are the perfect way to remember the good times and she knew that this party was one she wanted to remember forever.
