Masks
I’m all around happy,
Trustworthy and bright,
But no one knows inside
It’s a constant fight.
It’s inner turmoil,
But they can’t see
They don’t know
What’s killing me.
For when they’re around,
I put on my mask,
They don’t see smiling’s
A troubling task.
For when I’m alone,
Somewhere they can’t see,
I take off the mask
And let my emotions free.
