Dead and Gone

The others have gone,

Long since dead,

But all that I feel,

Is a constant dread.

My friend are all here,

But all that I feel,

Is the constant fear,

That they are not real.

For friends are people

Whom you can rely on,

If in one time you need,

 A shoulder to cry one.

But for that I have no one,

No one to stop the tears,

No one to soothe the pain,

No one to banish my fears.

For in the end,

I’m just like them,

The ones who’ve gone,

That’s all I am.

I’m just a shell,

All emptied out,

No one here to help me,

That’s what I’m all about.

For everyone who ever cared,

Has bidden my good night,

But soon it’ll be morning

And they’ll be within my sight.
