School the next day was worse. Jordan didn't come to school, and Elijah wasn't talking to me. I did my work with my earphones in and waited for the bell to ring for lunch. I walked out the front of the school to see Elijah and Taryn hugged up on a bench. Their whole table turned to look at me. Her friends scoffed. She laughed.
I smiled. Bitches be so dumb nowadays.
She stood up, and he grabbed her hand, shaking his head. I crossed my arms. I knew she was trying to fight me, and I wasn't about to go out sad.
"Kaebron!" I heard someone yell. I turned my head in surprise.
"Danielle!" I smiled, skipping over to him. He glared at me.
"Keep trying me, you gone get yo ass choked." He said. I smirked, but decided not to speak. He wasn't ready to hear my freaky shit just yet. He looked over at Elijah, and so did I. I knew him and his new crew were watching us, but damn. They were hella tuned in.
"Let's go." I said. I reached for the handle. He grabbed my hand, stopping me.
"Is there some shit I need to handle?" He asked.
"No. I'm good. I'm hungry though, and Simiya cooked for me, so come on." I said. He looked at me for a second before opening the door to the car. I got in, and so did he. He went straight to my house.
---
"So no food for me?" He pouted.
"You hella needy." I mumbled grabbing another plate out of the cabinet. I gave him half of my food. He smiled. I just started eating, and so did he.
"How was your day?" He asked.
I shrugged, "Jordan wasn't here, so I just chilled solo dolo. Nothing major."
"Ok. So why did it look like an altercation was underway when I pulled up?" He asked.
"I don't know. She's pressed. That's on her. I'm not worried bout either one of them." I said. I could tell he didn't believe me, but he left it alone. His phone rang on the counter. It was Keshion. He silenced it. I looked at him funny.
"If it's important he'll call twice. He always does." Daniel assured me. I shrugged. We finished eating in silence.
"You know, you been spending a lot of time with me." I told him, getting up from the island. I grabbed our plates and went to the sink. I started washing them.
"I love spending time with you Kae... damn near more than I like making money." He said. I glanced over my shoulder with a smile on my face. I saw him recording on my phone, so I didn't say nothing too serious.
"Aww, but imma warn you while you ahead, I don't fuck with broke niggas, so you might wanna keep making that money." I said. He just laughed.
"Here I thought you fucked with me for my personality." He shook his head, typing on my phone.
"You post to my Snapchat more than I do." I told him.
"I can't post you on my Snap. Then, all the niggas gon be like 'Bro you smashing boss sister?' Then it'll start some dumb crazy shit, and we'll have to be explaining to the whole hood how we're just friends. It'll really throw them for a loop when you finally let ya boy slide his way into your heart." He said.
"That's was a mouthful, and I'm lost." I admitted. He laughed.
"I can't put you on my snap until you become my girl, and until Keshion cools down." He summarized.
"Yeah, but who's to say "the hood" don't have my snap?" I asked. He stared at me blankly.
"That thought never occurred to me." He said.
"You're sure you graduated high school?" I asked. He just laughed. I finished washing the dishes, and we went to sit on the couch. He put his head in my lap, and laid across the couch. I grabbed the remote and turned on Eloise on Netflix.
Keshion Campbell
I knocked on the door, waiting for Daniel to open up. I didn't just walk in because this nigga kept at least four locks on at all times. I mean I thought it was crazy at first. Then I got to know how his mom let anybody in, her door was always open, and that wasn't always a good thing. That's why he keeps his doors closed... he keeps everything in his life on lock.
I shook my head. Pulling my phone out to check the time. It was 4:00.
"I know this nigga ain't doing early drop offs. This nigga barely works when he has to." I mumbled dialing his number.
It rang for a while before going straight to voicemail. I blew out a breath of frustration before dialing Dante's number.
"What's good boss?" He answered.
"You know where Daniel is?" I asked.
"Boss... I mean... I ain't gone lie to you-"
"That's what you always say right before you lie Dante. What are you hiding from me?" I asked. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a car rolling up slowly.
"Well, I think he's with your sister boss. They been fucking around for a minute now." Dante said. Before I could even react, I heard gun shots.
I grabbed the handle on instinct, and the door opened. I flew in, closing the door behind me. I hit the floor, waiting for the shots to stop.

My front door flung open, and we both looked up to see Keshion. He was drenched in sweat, and he looked completely pissed off.
"Why the fuck didn't you answer your phone?" He yelled. Daniel sat up immediately.
"My fault, bro. Wassup? You good?" Daniel asked.
"No I'm not GOOD I just got shot at in front of your fucking house. Right after I get news that apparently you're fucking my sister? What the fuck?" He yelled.
"Who shot at you?" Daniel asked. He pulled his gun out, standing up.
"I don't know!" Keshion yelled.
"Come on bro. Let's go find out." Daniel stated walking to the door. Keshion shook his head.
"Nah. Just stay with her. You can stay here for a while actually. I don't need you working with me. You're irresponsible, and just because we were friends, we let it compromise my position as boss." Keshion said. They glared at each other for a while, before Keshion stormed out.
Daniel stood there for a while, starring at the door.
