ANCIENT GREECE - 2000 YEARS AGO

Light melodic laughter escaped her lips as teasing words left his mouth in quiet whispers. His hot breath on her neck sent shivers down her spine which made her both nervous and excited.

Silas' muscular arms wrapped around her small body that was leant against his chest. Silence has settled between them, the only noise being the crackling of the fire a few feet away.

"Silas?" Athena called out after a long, silent moment. He hummed in response. "Do you love me?"

"You know I do," came his reply. "I have for years now. I have loved you since the moment I first layer eyes upon you."

"And yet you are still to marry Qetsiyah."

Silas let out a deep, frustrated sigh as she stood up so she could see him properly. They had been arguing about this for months now, but there was nothing either one of them could do about it. The marriage had been arranged by Silas and Qetsiyah's families.

"Please, Athena, let's not argue about this again."

"I am not arguing. I am simply telling you that I am certain I love you with my whole heart," the brunette beauty placed a hand over her heart. "And if you love me the way you claim to, then you would find a way to stop the wedding."

Athena walked away, the tears in her deep brown eyes threatening to spill. She wanted nothing more than to be with the man who made her happy. It was only then that she came to the realisation that Silas might not be that man.

He ran a hand through his short, curly brown hair stressfully. He had tried to call off the wedding but his family wouldn't hear it.

Silas was certain that Athena was the woman he wanted to be with forever, and he would stop at nothing to make sure that they were.
