  Chapter ~One~
Life After
^ONE YEAR LATER^

" What are you gonna cry now" Ashley asks the small girl beside me in the lunch line. She shakes her head and tries to move to get away.

" Where are you going 6th grader" She taunts and I have had enough I turn to Ashley

"Leave her alone do you remember how nervous you were when you were in sixth grade? so back off." I shout and the entire cafe shuts up and turns there attention towards the scene unfolding.

" And who's gonna make me"

" Well no one should if you would grow up and stop being a bully" I spit and turn to move forward in the line.

" You're such an idiot. Not even worth my time. Probably dumb to."  she says with a smug smile causing me to roll my eyes

" What does that mean? We are in the same classes and grade? We learn the same things."

" Yeah but I went here last year so I basically run the place."

" Yeah and I didn't which I am glad cause I had the privilege of not having to deal with you, but my luck ran out" I say grabbing a sandwich from the cafe lady handing her a five and walking away. She stomps her foot and huffs stomping out. I smirk and turn finding a spot by Melissa (My only friend)

" Aria" She says laughing but giving me a disapproving look.

" What Mel what was I supposed to do"

She shrugs slowly looking down at her own food.

I nod slowly not knowing if she was disappointed or proud of me, but I shake it off and begin to eat silently. When the horn blows I head to the bus and get on. I hate this damn field trip. The bus starts and I plug my headphones in. The bus starts moving forward and I look out the window. I know what's coming, The Bridge........ Sunscorn Bridge.

The one were my accident happened. I can see it coming up, it feels like it happened yesterday rather than one year ago. I sigh and watch as I pass the water. It's shining and has that blue tint everyone falls for the little waves that are crashing on the island that I once passed out on. The sickly feeling I get whenever that image flashes through my mind makes my stomach churn.

All I can see is further into the darkness of the ocean where my car and whatever is left of my family are. They never made an effort to fish it out. So my parents died and withered away, alone deep underwater. The water disappears behind a hill at the end of the bridge and I shift so I'm facing the opposite way and close my eyes, a stray tear slides down my face and I wipe it away quickly.

I unlock the door and walk in stealthily

I unlock the door and walk in stealthily. I listen closely. I hear silence, that means my foster family are all still out. They treat me like garbage and sadly I can't do anything about it. I take a look around, double checking.
