The group of heroes, plus one supposed super villain, arrived at the tower fifteen minutes later. The majority of the group had gone ahead, leaving Parker with the Vision, Steve, and Clint. They led her through the lobby, passing workers who gave Parker shocked stares as the four left the area, nearing the elevators.

Parker came to a halt and stared at the elevator. "Aren't there stairs?" she asked them, fidgeting with Sirius' leash.

"Why?" asked Steve, looking at her with knit brows.

"You see, my dog is claustrophobic, and I don't want force him into an elevator unless it's absolutely necessary." Parker explained.

There was a length of silence, causing Parker to shift uncomfortably until  Clint spoke up, "You're very considerate for a super villain," he said, looking at her through narrowed eyes.

The term caused the girl to wince slightly, an action that did not go unnoticed by the people before her, but unlike Clint and Steve, Vision knew the reasoning behind the motion. "Can we just go up the stairs, please?"

Steve and Clint shared a partially skeptical glance, before Steve nodded begrudgingly, leading the way to the stairwell.

Parker took the opportunity to look around at her surroundings, her anxiety levels rising when she realized just how many people were around. The looks they were giving her didn't help. Though not all of them recognized her with her purple hair, the cuffs around her wrists were enough for them to understand that she wasn't here to visit a friend. Some looked at her through narrowed eyes, their mistrust of her evident, while others' gazes held fear, worry that she might snap at any given moment and wreak havoc upon them. No pun intended.

The group of four, five if you count the dog, entered the stairwell, much to Parker and Sirius' relief. Parker was free from the prying stares, and Sirius wasn't shoved into a close-quarters, levitating, death box. The twelve story ascent was long and boring, so much so that Parker began to mentally narrate the journey.

T'was a long journey that winter. The girl and her dog climbed the stairs tiredly, though not without effort. The girl , a pretty rad dude, if she said so herself (and she did), looked at her captors. A ninety year old man who must be hated by dermatologists as his skin lacks wrinkles. Another man who looked as though he farted and was doing terribly at hiding it. And finally, a specimen unbeknownst to the girl, with skin the color of paprika.

The girl looked at her dog, wishing he was secretly some kickass bro who could help her take down her captors, but alas, he was just a dog that tends to shit upon her fancy carpet once every year or so-

"How are you doing that?" Steve asked sharply, cutting Parker out of her dramatic narration.

The men were staring at her, bewildered, with their eyebrows furrowed together. She looked back at them with a similar expression, "What are you talking about?"

"How are you projecting your thoughts into ours? The cuffs would have stopped them." Steve explained, an accusational tone in his voice.

"Maybe I'm just fucking awesome." responded Parker with a shrug of her shoulders. Steve glared at her, and she held her hands up in defense, "Okay, clearly my humor isn't appreciated here. Let me try again; I don't know."

Clint and Steve shared a skeptical glance before the former looked over at Parker, "Can you recall the events of the past few minutes to me please?"

"Okay? I got bored while we were walking upstairs, so I decided to mentally narrate the journey, and then you told me I had somehow projected my thoughts into yours." said Park, not seeing what the big deal was. "Look, can we just keep going? You're freaking my dog out and I don't appreciate it. And I doubt he does either." Sirius was pressed against her side, ears flat against his head.

"Hey, you don't make the orders here." Steve said, stepping toward Parker threateningly. In response, Sirius leapt in front of her, snarling at Steve, who quickly backed away. Clint stifled a laugh, and Steve glared at him. "Keep your mutt under control." He snapped at Parker, moving on.

"If Fury were here, I'd say the same to him." Parker said cockily, and Steve went rigid for a moment, while Clint stopped bothering to hide his laughter.

"Look Cap, I'm on your team and shit, but damn that roast was better than any I've ever heard." Clint said, giving Parker a thumbs up.

Steve looked like he was about to murder his teammate, but a voice filled the stairwell. "Mr. Stark would like me to ask you to, and I quote, 'hurry the fuck up because I want to meet this kid.'"

"Wouldn't wanna keep the tinman waiting, would we?" Parker asked, tilting her head at the three men.

Steve glared at her, seething, while Clint took the lead, taking the group up the final flight of stairs.

They entered a large room with a side door that led into a separate, much smaller, room. The former overlooked the latter through a tinted window, set above a panel of buttons and levers.

The rest of the Avengers stood in the center of the main room, and Tony Stark, now in a shirt and jeans rather than his suit, stepped forward and pointed his finger at Parker, "Anyone who indirectly calls Cap a mutt is awesome in my books, but unfortunately because of the damage you've caused us, and the rest of New York, I'm gonna have to ask you to step into the containmemt cell."

"Sirius too?" Parker asked.

"Sirius too."

Parker walked through the door to the smaller room and sat down in the center of the floor. Sirius followed after her, and sat directly on her lap.

"Dammit, Sirius, you aren't a lapdog!" she said, pretending she wasn't enjoying the closeness of the one being that didn't want to kill her.

The dog responded by turning his head and licking her face, as if to say, "shut up, you know you love me."

"Ass." she muttered.

(A/N: kind of short compared to my other chapters, but I really wanted to get something uploaded for you guys. This is more of a filler, but I promise we'll get to the good stuff soon. Sorry the update took so long!)
