Chapter 4: Investigation

Willow didn't know what to think, looking at the newest crime scene. She felt pity for Kaiya, as the poor girl was sobbing over her lover's corpse, but at the same time, she was distant. The only one Willow had grown close to was Mai, so why should this matter? It didn't change anything for her. She was still empty inside.

"Well fuck." Natsumi stated. "Satchiko too? What kind of evil person could kill such a cinnamon roll?"

"That's for you to find out!" Monokuma exclaimed, entering the room behind them. "Here's the new Monokuma Files! Now get investigating!" He exclaimed, and handed out the files before leaving once more.

Willow looked down at her file, reading off the information. Satchiko had no external wounds, and died around 10pm. That wasn't much to go off of.

"Hey Kaiya, can you stop crying for a second and tell us what even happened?" Tomi asked, approaching the bed were the ginger sat and her dead girlfriend laid.

"Tomi, don't be so insensitive... she just lost her girlfriend..." Kazuki said, looking rather depressed himself.

Kaiya shook her head, wiping her tears. "N-no, it's okay... he's right. I-I have to tell you if I want this... this m-monster caught..." She was quiet for a moment, picking up Cinder and hugging her. "She was poisoned... S-Satchiko came to my room last night, she was really sick a-and in pain... th-then she said it must've been poison and..." she trailed off.

"Well that doesn't help much, anyone could've done it." Tomi pointed out, and Kaiya's tears returned.

"I-I know... but we have to catch them...!" Kaiya cuddled her cat closer. "I-I won't let the killer g-get away with this..."

"I'll check her room." Willow stated, turning towards the door. "There's nothing else here..."

Akio stepped forward. "I'll join you."

Together the two left the crime scene and walked over to Satchiko's room. It had been unlocked for the investigation so they easily got inside, only to find a mess. Sticky notes were covering a wall, all with seemingly random words and phrases written down.

Akio looked around with a confused expression. "I know Satchiko was weird, but this is a bit much..."

Willow only nodded. "Yeah... let's just ignore that and check the drawers and stuff..."

The two of them searched the entire room and found nothing of importance, and with some disappointment Willow headed towards the door. Before leaving, however, she noticed Akio looking back at the wall of sticky notes and faced him.

"It's pointless... that's not gonna point to the murderer, you're wasting time..." She said.

"Yeah, you're right." Akio sighed, and followed her out.

The two decided to head down to the kitchen, as that's where it was most likely Satchiko was poisoned. Once again, they found nothing, and Willow was growing worried about them being able to solve the case.

After a while, Monokuma showed himself on the monitors. "It's time for the class trial!"
