Chapter 5: Investigation

It was the following morning, and Akio was sitting in the hotel's restaurant with Orochi and Haru at the same table as him. He was a little worried over the motive they had gotten, it usually didn't take long for someone to kill over those.

"I hope no one's tempted by the motive, but..." Haru started, "I'd understand if they were. I don't wanna remember Jirou's death..."

"It's too good to be true. I don't think anyone can really remove memories." Orochi replied.

"I think someone really was tempted..." Akio muttered, watching as Kaiya ran into the room wide eyed.

"I-it's horrible... horrible..." Kaiya stuttered in panic.

"Did someone...?" Orochi asked, only receiving a nod. "Who?"

"I-it's..." Kaiya sniffed, "It's Natsumi... in the hospital... s-so much blood...."

The three boys immediately got up, and followed Kaiya back to the hospital. Right in the lobby they saw that she hadn't been lying. The journalist's corpse laid there sprawled out on the floor.

"A corpse has been discovered! After a period of time a class trial will be held!" Monokuma exclaimed from the monitors.

Everyone was gathered in the hospital and had all gotten the Monokuma file. The investigation had begun, and Akio didn't know where to start. All the file said that was useful was that Natsumi had died an hour ago.

Kazuki was closely investigating the body like usual for him, and Akio decided to actually join him for once and get a closer look. It was obvious that Natsumi's head had been smashed into the wall, probably repeatedly with the amount of damage there was done. There was blood dripping down the wall, and a puddle under Natsumi's head where she laid. Next to the puddle was a handprint that would probably be important.

Akio was starting to get squeamish from being so close to the girl's corpse, so he stepped back and instead looked around the rest of the room. He didn't find anything else that was notable, and looked around to see if the others were finding anything.

Tomi was just wandering around, looking like he was just waiting. Kaiya had left, along with Orochi and Haru, and Willow was thoroughly searching the room.

Akio went to search the rest of the building, but like before, he didn't see anything that seemed important. Maybe they already had enough evidence, who knows? Akio hadn't asked anyone else what they found, so it all could be fine.

After a little longer, Monokuma showed up on the monitors again. "It's time for the class trial~!"
