It had been more than a week since Felix took Dawn in. Her bruises had faded quite a bit and the wounds on her feet were much better now. She could now walk without the feeling of being pricked everytime.
After their fight, Dawn would always hide from Felix when the clock struck 11:11, secretly making a wish.
Yes, the guy already said his apologies but she still knew better than to let him see her believing in that 'make believe' again.
They were watching the TV when the doorbell rang. Dawn hastily stood from her seat.
"I got it." she said, running for the door.
Well, that's weird, Felix thought. They haven't had any visitors since he had decided to stay in his house again.
Dawn opened the door and a raven-haired man towered over her with a hefty bag on his back. His well-framed body hidden under a gray sweatshirt.
"Woah, hello there." The man greeted, surprised by who opened the door for him. He looked at his surroundings, making sure that he had the right address, before staring at the kid in front of him.
"Wait, who are you?" The guy asked.
"I'm Dawn. Who are you?" Dawn inquired. He looked so familiar. Was he another YouTuber?
"I'm Mark. Is Felix here?" he asked.
"What's taking you so lo--" Felix didn't finish what he was saying as he saw who was at the door, "Mark?"
"Hello," Mark waved his hands.
"What are you doing here?" Felix asked incredulously, not quite believing who was in their doorstep.
"Just visiting," He answered with a smile.
"What?"
"Felix, this is supposed to be the part where you're gonna say to me to come in," Mark joked.
"Son of a-- gun. No, I'm not letting you in." Felix mocked and closed the door.
"What are you doing?" Dawn asked, dumbfounded by the humor of the two.
"Goofing around." Felix chuckled and opened the door again.
"Woah, is that really you?" Mark asked with a bewildered look on his face, "You didn't say son of a b--"
"Ah ah," Felix stopped Mark and motioned Dawn with his eyes.
"Oh," was the only thing that Mark uttered.
Felix crouched so he could face Dawn, "Can you make us some coffee, kid?"
Dawn beamed and nodded. Felix ruffled her hair before she ran away to the kitchen.
"Who's she?" Mark whispered and entered the house.
"Her name's Dawn."
"Yeah, she already told me that. I mean, what is she doing here?" Mark said as they sat down on the couch.
And Felix summed up what happened a week or so ago.
"Don't you need to fill up some papers before adopting a child?" Mark asked.
"I'm not adopting her. I'm just taking her in for now. I'm searching for the people looking out for her, really."
"Well, have you found any?"
"If I'd found anything, she wouldn't be making coffee for us right now, don't you think?" Felix retorted.
"Right," Mark chuckled.
