"Hello?" He answered the phone groggily, "Do you even know what time it is now?"

"And I thought you hate sleep?" Mark joked.

"I do, but c'mooon, man." Jack whined on the other line.

"I know, I know." Mark merely chuckled, "but I got something."

"What?" Jack asked, his thick Irish voice masked with annoyance.

"Hey, don't use that tone on me. You're the one who asked me to check if he's finally home or what."

"Okay, I'm sorry." Jack took a deep breath, "Sorry, tell me what happened."

"It's true."

"Really?" Jack asked, brightening up at the confirmation.

"Yeah. There's a kid in his house and would you believe me if I said this nine year-old girl can cook?"

"Oh, Felix mentioned that to me."

"He did?" Mark frowned, "And you didn't tell me?"

"Didn't think it was an important detail."

Mark shook his head, "Anyways, the girl is here. And Felix said he's already looking for people that's searching for her. And something weird is happening."

"What is?"

"Felix changed. I mean, a bit. Seems like he was still as dejected and lonely since the last time we saw him but, believe me, I think he's been... improving for the past few days."

A few moments of silence stretched on before Jack spoke, "What do you suggest? That Dawn's helping Felix with coping up?"

"As odd as it seems, yeah." Mark answered, nodding his head as if Jack could see him.

"Shit."

"What?" Mark asked.

"If she's really helping Felix, we can't let him see something that would have to make him bring Dawn back to her place."

This time, it was Mark's turn to curse.

Silence covered both lines, both of them thinking of another plan to save Felix.

"I have an idea." Mark snapped his fingers, "I said I'll help him find Dawn's origin on the internet. If I convinced him to just let me be the one to search on there. I'm sure, I'll find something there, I mean, it's the internet."

"Right." Jack chuckled.

"If I found anything, I can put some act and pretend that there's nothing."

"That's a nice idea."

"If I found where she came from first, it'll all be easy."

"Okay, sounds like a plan."

"But I still need your help, Jack."

"Even if you don't need my help, I'm still willing to go there, Mark. I want to see him for myself, see if he's really doing okay or if he'd done some shit to himself already or whatnot." Mark smiled.

"And the most caring friend award goes to, tan tananaaaan, Jackaboy!"

"Thank you, thank you." Jack said, taking little bows as if Mark could see him.

"Should I give you a bouquet of roses and a trophy?" Mark joked.

"A bouquet of roses from you would do, Markipoo." Jack cooed comically.

"Oh, shut it, you wingnut. Septiplier is dead." Mark said with a hint of a smile.

"Ouch. You hurt my feelings." Jack said, feigning pain in his voice.

"More than just your feelings will hurt if you don't cut it right there."

"Okay, I'm sorry." Jack laughed, "You know I love Signe more than you, bitch."

"And I love Amy more than you, too, jerk."

"Did we just do a Supernatural reference?" Jack asked.

"I think we did." Mark said and chuckled.

Mark heard Jack yawned on the other line.

"I think, it's best for you to go back to sleep. You need to charge your vocal chords."

Jack chuckled, "Right. Goodnight, Mark."

"‘Night, Jack."

And the line went dead.

It was already past two in the morning. He politely refused to play a video game with them, which disappointed Dawn, and suggested that they could just do it tomorrow (which technically meant today since it was already 2:16 am.)

Mark insisted that he could just take the couch. Felix gave him pillows and a spare blanket.

Good thing, he got the couch. He could sneak outside and make the phone call without waking any of the two up.

Shivering, he went back inside.

The room was dim but there was enough light for Mark to see his surroundings.

He plopped down on the couch. His hand wandered the side of the couch until he felt the fabric of his bag. He hoisted it up onto his lap and opened it. Mark fished his laptop out before dropping the bag down again at his side.

He turned the laptop on.

Time to do some stuff that Sam Winchester does to find the supernatural.

He typed Dawn's whole name on the search bar and added the words 'missing person' to it.

He clicked the first thing that came up.

He didn't know if he should be shocked or what. That was why Felix couldn't find any posters here of Dawn in Sussex, Brighton.

He did not know how can a small child walk the distance of 24 miles. It seemed like it will take seven hours for someone to walk all the way from there to here just by foot.

And the most shocking thing, it was not an orphanage looking for her.

It was from a guy named Raphael Hurley.

°°°

That was short compared to the other chapters. And it's a bit *cringe-y* for me but meh.

Anyways! Thank you for sticking around, and I hope I'll still have your support 'till the end :D
