After a long day at school, I was finally able to go home. Not that I would call it a home, but it was still something. I crashed on the living room sofa as soon as I had gotten inside. My Dad was at work, thank god. Conversation was not something I desired right now
Unluckily for me, the sound of the doorbell ringing forced me to shake myself out of the trance I was in. I opened the door warily, as I didn't know the neighbours here at all. It had only been two days since we had moved. The sight that greeted me in return was not someone I knew at all. The guy looked up nervously, looking from side to side as if expecting a surprise attack.
'Party at Caleb's. Be there 7 sharp. Details are on this card.' He said formally as he thrust the card into my hands. He allowed me no room to speak out, instead walking down the driveway in long strides.
Why would he invite me to Caleb's party? The sound of Stacy's hidden threat rang out in my ears as I hestiated about what to do in this situation. I rememebered Kira giving me her number, so i rang her for some advice on this matter.
'You have to go, Caleb throws the best parties.' She said, shocked at the prospect of me even thinking not to go. She continued lecturing me until I finally gave in. After all, I did not want to sit in a lone house all night.
'Fine I'll go, but what do I wear?' I asked wearily. My endless collection of sweatshirts and jeans would not be accepted in this apparently prestigious party. I looked at the time, realising I only had a few hours to pick out a outfit.
'You have to wear a dress of course. Not the grandma type ones you got in mind.' She joked, causing me to laugh lightly at her accurate sense of humour. I, however did not have a single dress, grandma style of not.
'I don't have a dress, Kira what am I gonna do?' I whined absentmindedly wrapping a strand of hair around my finger.
'Come to my place, I'll fix you up.' She said, giving me her house details and calling off. I sighed, realising that seeing Caleb was possible, obviously so at his own party. But, I did need to return to a sense of normacly. If that meant hanging out with the likes of people I barely knew, then so be it.

I had finished sifting through Kira's dresses, realising that most of them were skin tight and short, so short they barely covered her ass.
'Please tell me, why do you own stripper clothes?' I laughed as I threw more dresses into the growing heap in the middle of her room. She lived in the same neighbourhood as me, which cheered me up as we were within close range of each other.
'Leave them alone! A girl has to own some.' She pouted as she tried to find out the dress that would suit me.
'Here what about this?' She said finally, handing me a black dress which was mid-thigh. I shook my head fereciously in a bid for her to get that monstrocity out of my face.
'It's one of my most covered up dresses. Besides, it would suit your long legs.' She said convincingly. I sighed in defeat as she persuaded me to try it on before I judged the look of it.
'It's...nice.' I said, looking at myself in the mirror, realising that it indeed did compliment my long limbs. Also it wasn't exactly trashy, but seemed to fit my slight frame in a way that did not look revealing.
'That's great then.' She grinned in return, as i scanned her dresser which had makeup products strewn all over it. She was definitely going to spruce up my face into looking presentable. I was not very good at makeup, which was obvious judging by the bits of mascara still clumped on my nose.
I allowed her to fix my hair and face, but all the while an unsettling thought was in my mind. Caleb seemed to dislike me and his girlfriend was certainly intent on making her claims on him. They clearly had a motive for inviting me to the party and I was going to play right into their hands.
If only I knew.
