| FOR HOPE, FOR FAMILY:
CHAPTER TWO |

"AH, NICE TO SEE YOU TWO finally arrived." Rebekah remarked from the sun lounger as she sipped on a cocktail which Rhea was sure contained equal amounts of blood and alcohol.

"We took a slight detour." Kol told his sister with a shrug and a smirk, his sister not needing to know anymore details than that.

"So glad to know you two are still as intimate as ever, I see that Rhea's few lip locks with Tristan De Martel haven't affected that." Rebekah pointed out.

Rhea's face fell as Kol's contorted in anger, the mere mention of Rhea and Tristan's names in the same sentence enough to send his mood plummeting.

"Oh." Rebekah realised that Kol clearly didn't know about it. Without another word, Kol stormed into the house, not caring that he was acting like a child.

"Gee, thanks Rebekah." Rhea said with a roll of her eyes, she sighed and took a seat on the sun longer next to the blonde vampire.

"I'm sorry, Rhea, I guessed he would've known by now.." Rebekah trailed off.

Rhea closed her eyes, feeling the blazing sun hit her skin, "I never felt a need to, the first time was when I attempted to murder Tristan and the second? I was fragile and not in my right mind." She said with a heavy sign, a frown etched onto her features.

A lot of banging could be heard from inside the house, Rebekah chuckled slightly at her brothers antics.

"I think you should talk to him before he tears the house down, don't you?" She asked with a raised brow, "You know he'll forgive you, lord knows he bedded many woman back in the day." Rebekah pointed out truthfully, Kol had seduced many food sources.

Reluctantly, Rhea stood, making her way into the house. She found Kol upstairs, in one of the many bedrooms, stood on the balcony— his tight grip on the wood make Rhea wonder how close he was to snapping it.

"Kol—" she started, walking towards him but he cut her off.

"Rhea, I really do not wish to say anything I will later regret, so I'd leave me be for the time being." He stated.

"Well I'm not going anywhere, so you could at least look at me." She replied, noticing his hesitation to even turn in her general direction.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner? We had five years to ourselves, why didn't you tell me?" He questioned.

"Honestly? I didn't see a reason too, Kol. It never meant anything." She confessed, he turned to her then, his eyes narrowed.
