CHAPTER SIX |

RHEA SIGHED AS SHE LOOKED OUT at the darkening skies of San Francisco, she hadn't heard from Kol and the thoughts of anything happening to him sickened her. She had begged and pleaded with him to let her go to New Orleans, but he had refused. He had to do it alone. Ever since he had left she had nothing but dread bubbling inside of her. Something bad was going on, she just couldn't put her finger on what exactly.

Ares and Davina had tried their damned hardest to reassure her, but nothing would help until Kol was stood in front of her- unharmed.

"Something troubling you?" The voice she loved oh so much spoke from behind her, she stood from her seat on the terrace, turning to see Kol. Her Kol, unharmed.

She let out a sigh of relief upon setting her eyes on him, "You're back." She breathed out.

He nodded, coming to stand in front of her, "I'm back, sweetheart." And although he had a smile on her face, she could almost feel the heavy weight he held on his shoulders.

"What happened?" She questioned.

"Well, the hollow is gone," he told her with a thankful smile, "But she lives inside all of us. Me, Niklaus, Elijah, Rebekah. Pieces of her are inside us. And we can never be in the same room as each other again."

Although Kol had been trying to break free from the ties of his family for years, Rhea could tell that it saddened him greatly.

"Hope?" She questioned.

"Hope is fine... She will grow up and live a happy life. Without the Mikaelsons." He confessed, Rhea knew what he meant- they didn't just have to stay away from each other, they had to stay away from Hope too.

Rhea nodded, she felt sadness for all of the Mikaelsons - each in a different way, she knew them all very well and knew they would all struggle to adjust, even if they didn't want to admit it.

"So it's all over?" She asked with a hopeful smile.

"It's over, baby." He replied with a beaming smile, one that was reserved only for Rhea Mikaelson.

She let out a sigh of relief before taking her vibrating phone out of her back pocket. 

Her smile widened, causing Kol to raise a brow.

"What's making you smile?" He questioned.

She turned the phone towards him, for him to see a picture message from Ares of a petite hand with a huge diamond on the fourth finger.

With it was a message, 'SHE SAID YES !!!!!!!!!'

Kol grinned, elated for his friend slash brother in law.

"I believe celebrations are in order." He commented.

Rhea nodded, "Definitely."

And then he took her hand, and the two walked off into the dark of the night, minds clear and worries settled.

For now, they were OK.

A short closing chapter, so that we can have some sort of closure until Season 5, and so I can see if I can fit Rhea and Kol in.
